A few questions:
This one has the American "Black Gold" Trigger, or whatever it was called, before the MBT came out. It also has anti-rotation pins installed, which is kind of...
for a module-based trigger (right? the pins just keep it in place). Should I get a MBT for this guy? The pull is very nice, but maybe too light, and the reset is almost imperceptible.
Do any of the "enhanced" or oversized bolt catch/releases fit these lowers? Maybe I'm too dopey, but it's hard for me to depress the bolt stop. I think that a bigger one would help. I really like the one on my Sig MCX. And if I do it, should I tap the hole and use a dowel pin?
It appears that I have one of the older barrel nuts, (pre-Rearden Steel, but LaRue Pat Pend) but a newer wrench. There's no issue with removing/re-tightening the barrel nut, but is there any reason for me to get the newer nut? Speaking of, does anyone put a witness mark on the barrel/upper to figure out if it's torqued properly? I have a 5.56 PredatOBR upper on a Seekins lower, and once upon a time, accuracy went to crap, and it turned out the nut had worked its way loose. I whacked it a few times with my purse, and I haven't had that issue again.
The dude that had it put a Magpul PRS on it with a rifle-length buffer and spring. Is that combo good to go for this? Or should I look at changing it out?
Hopefully a range trip tomorrow! I'm incredibly psyched to have this awesome rifle, and my wife is already sick of me fondling it in the house.
