I touched the rear lug with a little bit of sandpaper and oiled it all up really well. I really like the 2.0 upper wishing I had another short one in black for my upcoming 12" Grendel build. |

Has anyone put a 2.0 upper in a Noveske lower?

IIRC it was Stubborn Mule Outdoor Supply who did the LT lowers until LaRue brought lower production in house.
Never knew Noveske did lowers, but he did do LT's barrels until Mark and John had a falling out, and LT switched to Lothar Walther. And then brought that production in house. |

View Quote i wish the upper and lower mated together a little better. there seems to be small gap at the rear where the buffer extension area is but it's by no means a deal breaker for me like it was for a few others. if you put one together you will see what i am talking about. it could use a little tweaking is all. i SBR'd mine so no real world experience with a longer barrel as both my 5.56 and .300 BLK barrels are short. |

I just received mine a couple weeks ago so I haven't had time to put it together yet. I think alot of people are in that boat. I still haven't decided on whether to go 16" Tar or Stealth since I have both sitting in the cabinet. Originally I planned on doing a 16" Stealth, but the receiver is very light so I think the Tar barrel might feel better. I like the look and feel of it, but need to find time to build it and get out to the range to see how it really does.

I love the chassis. Its very similar feel to my now Second favorite build which was a 14.5" 5.56 with the BCM KMR rail.
This build is a 16" 6.5 grendel and it balances great, is lightweight and a tac driver. It is a very tight fit with upper and lower but I can get it together with a little muscle and it makes for zero wiggle which I love, so can't complain about that. I love the look of the RO color, the slight mismatch in color between rail, lower and upper is a bit of a bummer but still a great looking rifle over all. I have 2 gripes with the finish other than the color mismatch. 1) of the 6 lowers I have assembled, this was the first to have any color come off of the bolt catch area when installing the pin. Including an 80% lower I cerakote at home before assembling. The finish on the RO lower flaked off on the corner when installing the bolt catch, I take some responsibility here but as I said this is my first issue installing the pin. I don't believe the lower is anodized RO based on how the paint flaked. 2) the finish is not frog lube friendly. I use frog lube on my semi auto pistols and rifles, if it gets on the lower it leaves dark patches that do not easily come off. No idea why this happens but I worked hard to remove it from the surface and it's still visible anywhere it oozes out or I get frog lube finger prints. My experience with the 2.0 chassis in RO makes me really want one in black, as my only complaints are with the finish. Given the opportunity, I will definitely build/buy more rifles built on this chassis in the future. |
