Just a bit of lead/zinc related trivia. People that shoot large- and full-scale smoothbore artillery pieces often have their cannonballs cast from zinc. Large lead balls can be cast but they're dangerous due to their extreme mass and the resulting high pressures. A foundry won't usually make small runs of a custom size iron ball, which must be seamless with a very high degree of roundness, and even if they do they do, they are going to be very expensive. Zinc is about 63% the weight of lead, but 91% the weight of iron. And it can be cast with little more difficulty than lead (much higher melting point for good flow). A cast zinc ball is a very good substitute for an iron cannonball, their weights are so similar, and can be made for a fraction of the cost. Plus they can often be reclaimed, melted down, and cast again. I cast a lead ball of 1.125" for my 1/4 scale 12-pounder, and this is pushing the upper limits of how big a lead cannonball can safely be. I load accordingly. Do you have a cannon TC? This is just the 1/4 scale 12-pounder, I have other stuff too . . . http://www.fototime.com/%7B16F4C8F7-E876-4545-AA2C-0C8DA60DD4AC%7D/origpict/carriages1%28lg%29.jpg http://www.fototime.com/%7B5E134822-01D6-4B17-A140-C5F6BB2DF541%7D/origpict/carriages2%28lg%29.jpg http://www.fototime.com/%7B3938913F-3FCF-4D6F-A490-E97ED4D79294%7D/origpict/carriages3%28lg%29.jpg http://www.fototime.com/%7B665B0FF5-F2E9-4654-A4FE-F451938A5AC3%7D/origpict/carriages4%28lg%29.jpg For size reference . . . http://www.fototime.com/%7BF7C1D656-FBC6-4D03-810F-88826D91FF6D%7D/origpict/napoleon%2526m66.jpg http://www.fototime.com/%7BD2FB6756-7BD8-4DDD-A8EE-41A5C8F622B8%7D/origpict/perspective-2.jpg Very cool. |

Standard practice here, unless title is lost or bank holds title. In this case I am getting a loan,he has a lien on the truck. Montana owner retains the physical title that has leinholder info on it. His bank will contact my bank for payoff on the lein and issue a release,my bank will cut him a check for any balance. He signs off on the title and my bank sends it to state DMV for reissue with the new (my) lien info and returns it to me. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
