Check that group on the left, it looks a wee bit bigger than .483" ... ETA - Wait, this is the OSTS thread and it looks like you overshot on top our Shootist's group. You smoked it and you're good to go. ETA 2 - Go shoot that rifle in the " 1 MOA Challenge " , you'll kill it. |

May have been asked and answered before and I missed it. Is it per rifle, or per customer? Going to try either way regardless, just don't want to needlessly take your guys away from making goodies.

image upload After a few shots to get my scope set I shot this group with my new 18" MG barrel. I was pretty please with this being my first group shot with the barrel. imagur I wanted to do an experiment that I thought I would share as well. After shooting the first group I took off the match grade barrel (installed at the factory) which was easier said than done. The barrel nut was torqued more than I expected. I then installed my field grade 16" barrel and shot the next group. Then I took off the field grade barrel and put back on match grade barrel and shot the final group. I was not able to torque the barrel nut down as tightly as it came from the factory on the two barrel swaps by hand so that is a difference here. I made no other adjustments. These 9 shots were shot in a row in a period of roughly 10 min. Overall I am pretty pleased. The third group is about the same size at the one on the test target from the factory (maybe a hair larger) and the group I shot with the FG barrel is under an inch by my measurement. The ammo I was using is some Lake City manufactured stuff with 175 gr SMK bullets (I was told) that I picked up in a trade a while back. I have some FGMM I plan to try out next. I am excited to see what I can do with some hand loads and some more trigger time. I may also play with the barrel nut torque some to see how much of a factor it really is on this rifle. |
