OPTIMIZED SNIPER SLING The Optimized Sniper Sling is a versatile tactical sling used to enhance repeatability and stability of the shooter resulting in increased first round accuracy, ability to see trace and/or splash, and lighting fast follow-up shots. This sling was specially designed with input from experienced snipers incorporating essential functions for tactical use and a patented integrated “bipod loading” mechanism. __________________________________________ The Concept of Bipod Loading: “Loading the Bipod” is a term used to describe the pressure between the bipod legs and the shooter’s shoulder which essentially locks the weapon into place making an extremely stable firing position. This sling allows the shooter to load the bipod when there isn’t an object to press the bipod legs against, ensures equal pressure/ loading on every shot (repeatability), and gives the shooter unmatched recoil management. Prone Mode: To fire in the prone position simply press the button on the quick disconnect and assume the prone firing position. The sling can be used with the body loop over one shoulder or the body loop under both arms (as shown in picture above). With the non-firing hand, pull on the running end of the bipod tension strap to force the stock rearward into the firing shoulder. This will lock the weapon into place. Single Point Mode: The OSS allows the operator to maneuver and fire the weapon like a traditional single point assault sling. The padded loop around the body is quickly adjusted using a “Rucksack” style friction buckle. With the Bipod Tension Mechanism attached, (as seen in standing figure to the right) the operator can quickly assume any bipod stabilized firing position (standing, kneeling, prone). Two-Point Mode: To secure the weapon to the operator’s back (climbing or fast-roping ops), the body loop is place around the stock of the weapon and the OSS is now used as a traditional two point sling. This function places both the Bipod Tension Mechanism buckle and the Body Loop friction buckle on the operator’s chest for easy adjustment. The vertical bipod attachment loop prevents the bipod legs from extending while the weapon is on the back. The OSS will operate with many models of Harris Bipods Attached to Harris w/ integrated LT706. Attached to Harris LMS swivel stud. Attached to Harris BRM crossbar. Link to Flyer, for more information: OSS Flyer Does not include ¼”-socketed reciever plate, or bipod. Colors: Black, Coyote |

Mark
What end plate are you using for the OBR 7.62 to attach the swivel??? |
|
Hopefully I'll have one of these when I get an obr in a few years...

You know something?
I would really like the front section with just a loop to grab with bare fingers or a gloved hand. A.W.D. |

Darn-it, LaRue!
You keep coming up with new ways to liberate money from my wallet to yours! Please don't stop. |

Shut up and take my money.
Seriously, though, how come whenever someone asks ho to get a QD on a LT lower the question is met with silence? |
|
Mark, any chance of seeing a full picture of the sling in 2 point mode on that bolt gun? Been looking to get a sling for my 700 and I'm already using the integral LaRue/Harris bipod.

There is always a lot of thought put into their products. Good job once again.

Any chance for something closer to UDE in color???
I share my Foliage LT padded sling with both 556 and 762 OBR's....wouldn't mind having this for my 762, but the foliage matches better than the coyote, and I dont want a black one. Love the design of the sling! |

Shut up and take my money. Seriously, though, how come whenever someone asks ho to get a QD on a LT lower the question is met with silence? There are a number of QD extension plates for AR-platform rifles that'll work. LINK Our choice would be the Troy....However, the current Troy re-design does not fit the OBR. Troy is busy updating theirs to fit the OBR. |

Can you tell me what is on the rifle in the picture? I understand you run a machine shop, so what is in the picture may be a one-off, prototype, or modified product not available, just wondering what is currently in use. Good news that Troy is showing up to the game. Quoted:
OST I'm drawing a blank. What is OST? Sorry if I should know this. When I'm at work, the acronyms run together... Quoted:

I've been known to drive a tent stake in the ground and hook a short bungee cord or paracord strung between the bipod feet to it. Not as elegant a solution as the OSS, but it works in a pinch. I've also put a screw right in the middle of my shooting bench for the same purpose. Very eager to get the OSS, though. Much easier to set up than driving something in the ground. This sling is complete win. |

Is there anything keeping the bipod from deploying in single point mode if the sling gets hung up?

Nice. If I may be so bold. You could take the "T" section that connects to the bi-pod and replace the fast buckle with something like this. http://www.impactweaponscomponents.com/static/images/productimage-picture-2-to-1-point-triglide-threads-into-your-sling-and-makes-it-convertible-96_jpg_280x280_q85.jpg and one could use it with one of your Two point slings. And I wouldn't have to buy another sling If the fast buckle had two qd sockets (one to go into the handguard and one to receive the slings' ), it could be run as a two point sling. I REALLY like that idea......would be easy to use my existing LaRue padded sling for the same purpose. |

The older Troy M4 OEM is also pictured, but they do not make that model any more.

Lordy, more stuff that I don't need and can't afford, but want anyway...

Just got mine. Another shout out to the LT shipping guys who are apparently constantly jacked up on speed.
Looking forward to test driving it tomorrow... |

I'm sure you pieced it all together and assumed living-room prone...what are your first impressions?

I'm sure you pieced it all together and assumed living-room prone...what are your first impressions? Doh, busted! Took me a few seconds to get it settled in, but once I figured out the right adjustment, it was completely solid. I always felt like I was chasing the rifle around on my belly, a couple inches at a time, but this keeps it nice and tight in the shoulder and on the ground, even on the relatively slick carpet. Of course, shooting it will tell the real story, but I'm happy as I could be with it right now. You guys shipped my PRS today, and as soon as I get the QD sockets for it, I'll make good use of the QD in the middle of the sling. Someone had a real stroke of genious about that thing. Without it, it's just a fancy rope attached to the bipod. But with it, it seems like a really functional and versatile sling. |

OK so I'm a little confused...can this be used as a two point sling with out the bi-pod? Does it have QD swivels on both ends?

QD point in the middle for single point use. Transport two-point sling mode uses bipod attachment on the front, and loop around buttstock on rear. If you don't have a bipod, this isn't the best sling for you. |

I've got a bi-pod I just don't ALWAYS run it...oh well...It'd be nice if I could use the QD on the end of the padded sling that unbuckles... http://www.laruetactical.com/sites/default/files/p1011826.jpg but it looks like the buckles are switched... If your bipod is QD, just swap the sling when you pull off the bipod. |
