Mine looked as good as I expected on the outside. A bit sloppy in the slide to frame fit and a lot of wear on the left rear frame rail (sorry no pic) http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk163/zeus2you/IMG_20150702_164333_263_zpsbacvtscz.jpg Can't say it wasn't loved quite a bit by the last owner though... http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk163/zeus2you/IMG_20150702_164651_345_zpsw40hdpmx.jpg Right now it's in a box waiting for a ride to Sig for a nice cleanup and replacement sights... View Quote thanks, the outsides about what i would expect mine to look like, hopefully not worse....slide to frame is a little worrying but i'm likely doing what you did and sending it straight to sig for their refurbishment service and maybe pay to get it coated too. |
|
Same issue with left rear rail wear, but most of it goes away with a full magazine. Headed out to shoot mine in a few minutes, and I expect all to go well. Very little finish left on my slide, but that doesn't bother me at all, and I plan to carry it until I wear the rest of it off and put my M11A1 back in the safe. I suspect mine may go to Sig one day, probably next time they send an email running a special. Until then, I'll enjoy it as is.
Thanks again Bryan and all. |

Ran the CZ75, Sig228 and Beretta 84 Cheetah about 100 rounds a piece. All ran flawless with very little precleaning and only a little oil. All three hit the plate consistently @25 yards. I'll have to get some more mags before I can run the course like I did with my fn HiPower to really decide how I like them. Pics to come

It's shooting about 3" left and the rear sight needs adjustment, but ran flawlessly through 50 rounds and damn nice gun. Sweet shooter. |

My 228 looks about like the pictures others posted, I'll take some later...some finish left on the slide and fame had several scratches with finish missing but thankfully its just finish no gouges or anything .
Has some rust on the grip screws and a lil rust and nicks on the barrel breach area seen through the extractor cutout, no ep on the barrel though just the stamped/ etched serial on the slide...quite a bit of slide wiggle though mine has more wiggle on the back right side hopefully not too bad on accuracy. Mine has the metal sig 2 dot sights which I don't mind at all but man are they worn down...likely sending this to get reworked by sig but I'll get some rounds though it this weekend maybe if the range isn't packed edit: cleaned it all up and got it back together, not as bad as i expected it to be....but now it only fires DA, SA works maybe 25% of the time....trigger bar springs connected properly so i may just try the cheap fix and order a fresh one....or just say to heck and send it to sig for them all to be replaced. |

Looks like some private Hill Country shooting with AIM Israeli black pistols. What a way to celebrate July 4!

My 228 has very little finish on the slide, but everything else is great. One small nick from being dropped on the bottom front slide, there is very little to no wobble on the frame/slide, no EP on the barrel, and matching numbers. I'm thinking an OD finish and new grips. Possibly a black barrel too.

I picked mine up today and both the frames look they were painted with a rattle can of black paint. One has a lot of runs in the paint.
