I just got done watching Chip and Kyle's PVS-14 video. Great information! I have been doing my research and still have a few questions.
I read that your older in-house made units used ITT tubes from a distributor, is this still the case with the TNV/PVS-14?
Is there any reason for me to go with an NEPVS-14 over the TNV/PVS-14? I pretty much just want something that is equivalent to what I was issued in the Army (03-06), or even better. From what it sounds like in the video, the TNV/PVS-14 ITT Gen 3 Pinnacle is the way to go.

Thanks for watching the video!
Our TNV/PVS-14 systems use current OMNI spec tubes above the average of what you would find in a Night Enforcer factory built system. We also offer the systems with an ITT Pinnacle tube or an L3 OMNI VIII tube.
You were issued an AN/PVS-14, and in most cases they don't have the greatest tubes. Yes, the AN/PVS-14's are the only fully milspec goggle and yes they are built to the current omni spec, however, the tube image will often have more blemishes and the performance can be just iffy. That being said, if you were to go with either the Night Enforcer or a TNV/PVS-14, you are going to get a better performing tube AND have a data sheet to back your specs up with.
Night Enforcers are great systems, but you have to pay extra for hand select tubes. When you take into consideration that the tubes we put into our TNV systems perform better than the average of what you would find in a factory system and on par with the hand select tubes, it's almost a no brainer. Plus, whats even better, is the cost savings. You're getting a hand select tube, at a price lower than a non hand select factory system. The caveat to purchasing a TNV system is the lead time. This is because they are extremely popular and we sell a ton of them. Not to mention, we get tons of tubes shipped to us every month, and as you can imagine, we are very picky with the tubes that the manufacturers send us. A lot dont meet our standard. Taking time to sort through and make sure every tube meets our standard is time consuming, but we just aren't willing to sacrifice the quality of our systems for shorter lead times.
Bottomline; I would never try to force your hand into purchasing something you aren't fully comfortable in purchasing. I always try and give folks the knowledge they need to make an informed decision. Take a look around this forum, and read the reviews customers have written about our systems. I think they speak for themselves.
