Well I got her mostly done tonight. I still need to get it in a vise and torque the barrel nut down and install the gas block/tube, it will also allow the locking lever on the hand guard to close all the way. It doesn't seem too heavy, but I don't have the BCG yet, hoping it comes in under 8lbs w/out scope or mag. Overall the quality is top notch, I was surprised to find out I didn't have to modify the BADASS short throw safety to fit. Like my Seekins lower, it uses a set screw to retain the take down spring, which is nice since you can work on the stock without having to keep track of the spring, but you do have to cut the spring down to fit. The only comment I would say is it would be nice if the upper and lower were a completely tight fit. There is just a little play, which isn't bad and less than my PSA AR, but it would be nice if it was completely wiggle free. I do have the tensioning screw adjusted as much as possible. Overall I really like this gun, I have been putting off buying/building a 308 AR for a year cause I kept changing my mind about what I wanted, Rainier made the decision for me when I saw this set. I personally like the design over the Mega Maten, the new Seekins offering and all the other billet sets I have looked at.
.
So here it is, just needs some tightening down and I need to pick an optic.
Edit: what barrel nut wrench do you recommend that will fit the nut for this rail? I don't want to buy one that doesn't fit.
