Picked up my Contractor WASR this week and am quite happy. It's a used & dirty WASR. Now the barrel is bright and it cycled smoothly, the trigger is a surprising two stage. Is it me or are all Tapco triggers different? I didn't get a cleaning rod, but I had one lying around that fit.
I went to the farm to shoot yesterday and was pleased w/the results. It made me appreciate a rifle that will function smoothly through the "manual of arms," broken in works better.
I had to tweak the front sight, it was low at 100 meters and a tad left. After the adjustment, I walked it out to 400 meters no problem. I was using a bench rest and Wolf WPA. I then went free hand and wailed on a 10" plate at 100 and a hostage target at 200. Got a few hits at 300 meters on an 18x24 steel.
Atlantic you will appreciate this, no magazine issues. Very happy.
Oh, and when I left the farm, I tossed the rifle in the back of the pickup!
