3 years ago, I purchased an Upper Group, Mk4LE OR, 22LR (then under a different name). With less than 500 rounds (ammo availability issues), broke it down for cleaning & the retainer plate on the Receiver Frame fell out. The weld had failed & the only thing holding it in place was the buffer/buffer spring.. Called CMMG this AM & they have made some changes in how this plate is welded to the frame. They are going to send me the updated Receiver Frame, Barrel Collar Assembly (stainless instead of carbon steel), & a Forward Assist Adapter which will update my BCG to the current configuration. They didn't ask for the old parts back.
Had a lot of issues with this upper, went back several times 3 years ago, muzzle was never crowned properly. They paid for shipping both ways. On my last brick of Winchester 555, 2inch groups at 50 yds with 1x red dot, bench rest with bipod. I have another rifle which also groups well with this ammo.
I was no longer in their database, so CS rep had to re-enter all info. Am anxious to get this thing fixed, since it shoots so well. Hope to find some Win555/333, since it seems to prefer it over the Federal Bulk. Was able to find some Winchester Hyper Velocity, but it's somewhat expensive at $.10/round.
I am one of the few for whom the BHOA works perfectly with the Evolution Mags (no longer available). I have 1-30 round & 1-10 round, also some Black Dog SS feed lip mags which work but don't keep the bolt locked back when the empty mag is removed (normal).
Haven't received any email confirmations about the parts shipment, but expect a box of parts to show up sometime this week. Do I need to follow up, or not?
Thanks CMMG for taking care of your customers!!!
