So I was curious if you guys could do this and what service(s) it would fall under?
Savage rifle barrels are installed using a barrel nut system. The barrel's chamber end has extended threads that a collar/barrel nut is threaded on to. The barrel is then screwed into the receiver and the barrel nut is tightened against the receiver once proper headspace has been found.
I have a heavy barrel that has already been chambered and threaded for a Mosin Nagant receiver thread pattern (55 degree Whitworth and 32 TPI). Are y'all able to extend this threaded portion further on the barrel and cut a barrel nut to fit and mimic the savage style barrel nut system? A relief has been cut after the existing threads, however this shouldn't be an issue if the receiver threads can be cut continuously bridging this gap.
Additionally I'd like you guys to reprofile the whole barrel, shorten to 20", and thread the muzzle.
Is this possible?
Thanks!
