What diameter does a factory barrel have to be for it to be extended and threaded without a "shoulder" being left at the end of the barrel?
For example, you guys have threaded and extended a bunch of CZ barrels and a BHP barrel that were very thin, so the extensions had to have a shoulder on them for the can to seat against. The 9mm 1911 you did for me had such a large barrel that the diameter didnt need to change.
What diameter is sufficient for an appropriate shoulder?
ETA picture for clarity...
The 1911 has a barrel diameter that is sufficient for the can to seat against, the CZ and BHP need the extra shoulder. Basically, if I know what diameter requires the shoulder (and therefore dis-assembly of the barrel extension from the barrel sometimes), Ill know what each potential suppressor host will require for maintenance before I ever decide to send it off to you.
Just to add, Ive got about 45 pistol hosts right now, and the ones you guys have threaded for me run as well as the factory threaded guns. Thanks, as always.
