Renard, not all of us had an AR15 a year ago or five years ago. I got mine about five weeks ago. So I am in the process of acquiring an adequate supply of PMags. I will get mine from DSG before the possible HB 1224 effective date of 1 July 2013. No worry. No panic.
As an aside, I probably did not even know of PMags until last December 2012. My Holiday Pack order was 31 Dec. Then I learned that Magpul was in Colorado and I smiled.
A few days ago I looked them up on Wikipedia and their history seems worthy of a documentary. I am impressed.
I have to agree. But, I had my AR for over a decade and am a happy little hobby shooter, and already have a few dozen mags. And I was stockpiled with with a comfortable amount of ammo in 2008.
Only the recent intensity on firearms, and the cost of ammo not going down since 2009 has got me to re-evaluate my belongings and the industry. I never even heard of Magpul until end of December when I decided to "upgrade." (I might have with their original product but just forgot about it). I first joined Ar15.com under a different account with an email from a company that no longer even exists - so long ago, that it was impractical to even have all the graphics associated with each page in these forums like they are today. Once you are good to go - you are good to go. I never felt a need to get "better" mags.
One can go about endlessly, what one should have done. Example, before the high capacity toilet ban of 1995, were people dumb because they were not stocking good toilets? For instance, we should know what an EMP is, and that fact that not everyone has a backup home with hunting grounds in the forest, and backup vehicles with custom emp shielding does not mean people ignore preparedness. When Iran gives Hezbollah a nuke to attack the US with, people will say that everyone should have known that was going to happen when we elected an Iran-friendly (and anti-American) president. I have family members that have generators and stored fuel for them, but if things start to go bad, they are still going to buy more fuel and more fuel storage. I have food stored away, but I'll still buy more when circumstances dictate to. If I had 6 dozen mags, or even 300, I'd still be buying more right now.
In any case. I am all for selling mags to CO non-retailers and non-resellers before any such ban. And to discourage reselling, I suggest Magpul add an additional $3-$5 per mag sold in Colorado, and donate that extra money to the NRA-ILA or another pro-gun group in Colorado.
