Well... OSUT to be exact.
My brother, GIR-101 is on a plane right now, heading to Fort Benning and I couldn't be prouder. He'll be the third of three sons my parents have watched and supported serve their country. End naturally his oldest brother (me) will be sending letters... And the occasional care package intended to ensure he and his platoon mates get some extra PT sessions in. |

Given the timing, he'll probably cross paths with members of my Reserve unit, possibly myself. We back fill both the Reception Station and all the Dril Sergeants at Benning.
Might possibly be able to check on him this Friday, early Saturday for you. |

Hah! Hurry Up and Wait has hit him already... He showed up only to be told he isn't flying out till tomorrow. Welcome to the .mil Bitch!

He has finally boarded a plane and is headed out.
Funny shit for us is when he bitched about waiting around getting old already. |

What's even better is he has a two we "adjustment period" prior to actually starting OSUT. Btw, HAHA Army, you guys are lame for that shit! |

Does he mean reception? We were there for a little over a week, some classes were there longer. After you get all of your admin shit done in the first few days, you pretty much just stand around in formation all day between meals.
I never understood the reasoning of making us pay for our own initial PX trip or stupid haircuts. It's not like we have an option. |

I'll be at Ft. Benning starting this Thursday, and am doing a handshake with the Commander at the Reception station prior to my Soldiers conducting a mission there later this year. Shoot me a PM and I'll check in on him, no problem.

This is the best part of sending off a family member or friend to basic. My friend had to beg me to stop because he was getting dogged out by the drill sergeants.

He's having his "family day" thing today, basic training graduation but he rolls right into AIT on Monday, same drill sergeants and all.
So far he has been harassed thanks to an antagonizing Pro Air Force letter from me, dodged a "glitter bomb" letter sent by a member of the tank brigade, as well as had an SKT bag of dicks sent to him by another tank member. We've kept him busy. |

GIR-101 graduated OSUT last week and is now in Jump School, upon completion he will be progressing with his training.
I'm proud of the skinny boot! |

"Airborne, Airborne everyday" has a very literal meaning here.

Well, that escalated quickly, and about the direction I thought it would.

Did you like the care package I sent you? I bet he taste tested every one to see if they were flavored. The drill and the platoon thought it was pretty fuckin funny. He had me hold one up and describe how stiff and large it was. Then proceeded to show all the other drills in the company. I was "bag-of-dicks guy" from then on |

Best $50 bucks I ever spent, even if my wife disagreed with it

How goes tower week. Ready for that door? View Quote Tower week is going pretty well, but it doesn't currently look like we'll be doing the 250 foot towers. Supposedly they haven't used them since April, which kind of sucks. We were getting set up to use them Yesterday but foggy weather put a halt to it. Today is combat load and malfunction jumps from the 34, I don't know what's on the schedule for tomorrow, I'm just ready to jump out of an airplane |

Has anyone said anything about peeing in your canteen after the last jump? In 1998, some E5 told my stupid private self that that's what everyone does.
