I don't think DD is considered tier 1 by most in GD.

Now a days almost any name brand AR is going to run just as good as any other.
Hell, throw a PSA premium kit together and it'll probably run as good as a Colt. The name brand this or name brand that is just people trying to justify their cost expenditures. So in essence, DD doesn't do anything S&W or Colt doesn't. |

It other words more out of the box options straight from the factory. I don't own any but if they had a model that fit my needs I wouldn't hesitate buying it for patrol use. |

My dept just T&E'd LWRCI, Sig, Colt, FN, S&W, LMT and DD. Can't really say there were glaring standouts.

DD fit and finish is outstanding. Their attention to detail is superb and their rifles are top tier in my opinion. Their handguards are second to none and offer more options than most.

Our PD runs Smiths and some hybrid kits using lowers from an area dealer with EOTechs and a compact vertical foregrip/flashlight..

We are issued M&P. However as soon as I can get to the range and qual with my DD MK 18 I'll be toting it.
