I've been asked to scrimshaw a Kit Carson horn. In going through his autobiography, it ends with the Mexican American War. Does anybody know if he updated it to include his Civil War service.

BTW, his rifle is in the possession of the Masonic Order in Santa Fe. His jacket is in Trinidad, CO.

I'm of no help with your particular issue, but his grave site is worth a visit if one ever finds themselves in Taos, NM.

Wait a minute... we must not be talking about the same Kit Carson I know.  Not the well-known knifemaker?

The ones I found online all ended at the same place before the Civil War.
