I know that guns laws are different from state to state, but I was wondering if there are some general laws that are basically the same. If so here is my Q: Having bought one AR15 already, I want to get another. The one I Bought is a pretty standard Bushmaster with 16" barrel, normal stock and grip. I am wondering if I by another AR15 what is the shortest lenght you can have as a civilan owner. I am pretty sure that the stock must be standard, right?
I am new to the AR15 group, and have looked for local laws with little luck. Such as what is the deal with AR15 pistols and 7" barrels, etc. Who can have them?
I know the lower must be semi auto only, but other than that I was hoping someone else might know a little bit. you dont have write book, how long should an AR be...ARs the shoot pistol ammo?.... (I also just joined AR15.com)
so many laws, so little info out there

Depending on where you live, it varies from "we dont give a damm, just dont violate federal laws" (like TX, VT, and most other state) all the way to "Thats like rape and murder, keep it out of my state or else you go to jail!" (like CA...)
