Apparently Kansas has a gun law that protects their people from the NFA. Shane started making and selling suppressors under the Kansas law. ATF caught wind of it from a video Jeremy Kettler made talking about a suppressor he bought from Shane. They raided Shane, charging him and Jeremy.

Here's a news article about it:

Does anyone have an update on this? Have they appealed? This case could bring up the unconstitutionality of the NFA and like laws.  Needless to say, I'm very interested.

We have a similar law in AZ. I was waiting for someone to test it.

Turned out like all those pot shops that are being challenged, eh?

The what I was thinking. All the Colorado pot shops that are flying in the face of the ATF and not a single thing done by the ATF? Must be because guns are evil, but drugs are ok?

ATF doesn't regulate weed.

There is a big distinction between State law and Federal law. State's can't be forced to enforce Federal law. So in places like CO with weed, they are still technically be raided and arrested by Federal agents. That is all it boils down to. Just like users caught with drugs are many times let go depending on the quantity on them, the government, both local and federal, has to use limited resources appropriately.

The ATF going after a single person on violation of NFA rules is much easier to justify when they are making/selling the items vs following up with every reported use of someone shouldering their AR15 pistol or having agents in every gun range checking serial numbers to make sure guns aren't stolen or that is a registered SBR.

No, Kansas has a law that only utter fools believe protects them from the NFA.
A state cannot pass a law that magically exempts its citizens from federal laws.

You can't fix stupid and you can't stop a nitwit from posting the video either.

Not yet.

Yeah, right. None of the previous cases involving the National Firearms Act succeeded in that, so what makes you believe this one would?
