 If nothing else, it'll make for a fine spare/travel piece, and should be perfectly reliable. See if he'll take less than $260, and even if he doesn't, snatch it up. I would.

Sounds like a reasonable price for a good, but not great, semi-auto pistol.

Quiz him about addition hi-cap mags he might have.  Make sure the one in it is a S&W.  Mags are an important part of this deal.
