Because this woman had a cell phone and dialed 911, both her and her husband are alive today. www.womenandguns.com/0501issue/lyn0501.html "Inside, as soon as Walls ran with her keys, Susan reached for her cell phone and called 911 again, emphasizing that both she and Mike were shot. She went into the living room to be with Mike, and the emergency operator told her to get him a towel, which she did. The 911 operator asked her, "Are you sure you are shot?" Susan looked down at her bloody body, and assured the operator that yes, she was shot, too! She was told to lie down and put her feet up (to help prevent her from going into shock from the blood loss). She did, but got to her feet again when she saw the lights of the emergency vehicles outside."

Remington 870 + 41 high brass shells = 911 Best Home Defense. The other twenty four rounds are in the sling.

I completely agree!!! cell phone and 1911 are the best home defense!

I would add a good dog to the list. At the very least, he will buy you a few precious seconds.

Hey Gus... do they make a speed-feed pistolgrip stock like that for the Mossberg 590?

They do, but remember where the safety is, on top. Be kinda hard to flip off the safety. c-rock

Let's see... The light is a Surefire Defender (old type - no constant on mode); The stock is a Speedfeed; mag extension is by Tac-Star; the sidesaddle, mag spring, follower, and safety are from Scattergun Technologies (before Wilson bought them); ammo is a mix of Federal Tactical 00 and slugs. I still plan to add some tritium ghost ring sights. Cell phone my ass!! I'll use a land line to report the burglary attempt. Dog is just as big black and ugly. (Gooood doggy!)

Brownell's lists them with and without shell storage. I agree with c-rock though, with the safety on top, operating it from the pistol grip might be a little strange. I think I'd do without the pistol grip on a Mossy.

That was too easy. I actually thought I was going to be the first to think of that. O well.

Sounds like they would have been better off is the wife had learned to shoot and she had been armed with something a little better than a .22
