If you've wanted a replacement tactical stock for that Savage 10FP or 110FP, now's your chance to be heard.

Scott Powers over at [red]snipercountry.com[/red] is taking a poll of people who would buy a HS Precision stock for a Savage rifle if they became available. If he gets 250 pre-placed orders, [b]HS Precision[/b] will proceed to manufacture them.

Here's a HS Precision PST12, with adjustable length of pull, one of the stocks being considered for Savage rifles:

If you'd rather have a fixed PSS style stock, let Scott know when you email him. [b]HS Precision[/b] will [i]only[/i] build these stocks if there is a demand for them. I heard the price range on these will be the same as their "Pro-Series" for Remingtons, between $250 and $300.

Come on!?!? Are there NO Savage rifle owners on this board?!?!? I've heard people complain for years about the crappy synthetic stocks that come on Savage the tactical rifles. I would think people would be jumping all over this! [>:/]

Walt Culley makes a great Savage and Remington stock, too. HS Precision are wonderful, but Walt's stuff is more in my price range, and he made it in left-hand for me, along with tuning the trigger.

I'm sure whoever chimes in for one of the HSP stocks will be happy, but I'm happy with mine.

SniperCountry has been a boon to all of us, and I, for one, would like to say, "Thanks!"

Well it looks like this is a GO but there's a snag in the works, according to a email reply I got from Sniper Country proprietor Scott Powers.

Savage is dragging their feet on releasing factory specifications to HS Precision. HS always works from factory spec when building their stocks. This makes it alot easier to build within "tolerance". They want to avoid reverse engineering it because they could run into problems if they use a base rifle that is out of spec as their working model. They are in the process of trying to get Savage to free up a set of drawings and once that happens, the project is a go.

So that's about where it stands. Be patient. Thanks to everyone who showed an interest.

Does anyone know of the availability of barrels for them? Specifically, I am looking for a heavy barrel for the 110 7mm mag, 26" length. Are there any commercially available, or is it best (as with most things in life) to have a custom one built. If so, who is reputable, and what type of cost factor?

....new to the percision shooting end of things, but long into my AR. :o)
