Sitting behind my brand new puter, I know it's a shame but my 64 mb Pentium 300 had to make room for a

Athlon 1200 w/256 megs
19 inch screen
32 mb Geforce2 GTS card
30 gigs of harddrive
52 speed cdrom
12x10x32 rewriter

Damn life is good, buying a new puter is as good as buying a new weapon.

Yea,I was thinking that CIVILIAN computers
went obsolete in about a month with CIVILIAN
standards.....If you want to humble yourself
a little Kuiper just think that by military standards it was obsolete when you bought it. [:D]

I just got a new one myself

Pentium 4 1.7 ghz/512 megs ram
19 inch viewsonic perfectflat
64mb Geforce3
80 gig HD
cd/dvd drive
16x plextor cd burner
sound blaster live

It's sweet, nothing like paying $3000 for something that will only be worth $1000 in less than a year. These things devalue faster than anything else, but I like it!

And even sweeter I got my work to buy me a new notebook computer:

Pentium 3 1 ghz/512 meg ram
15" UXGA screen (best there is for notebooks)
30 gig hd
dvd drive
32 meg Geforce2 Go (3d gaming on the go)
digital sound with dolby surround headphone (yeah, baby)
Windows 2000 professional

I use this baby to serve dedicated Counter-Strike games at home on my cable modem while I play on the Pentium 4 1.7 ghz.

I also use this to watch DVD in airplanes and hotel rooms. Officially I use it to dial in to our mainframe to fix problems when I'm at home or out of town.

I thought you were going to claim a one-hole, 200 yd., five-shot group.

I have a POS Compaq. 475 Athlon, 128 Mb RAM, 8 gig HD, Zip Drive, no DVD, 15" NEC MultiSync monitor from about 1995, Microsoft Ergo keyboard, Logitech mouse, scanner, HL-5 laser printer (B&W and hardly ever use it).

I put out web sites and newsletters with it. I could spring for a DSL connection, but I get my ISP paid for by one of my web site clients.

It works for me. But what you have is pretty spiffy. I think computers are going to go modular and be readily upgradable real soon.

Geez and I though I was on top of the technology giant. [:o)]

My fastest desktop computer at home is a Dell Pentium Pro 200 with 64MB of RAM. [:(]

I'll gladly take any of what you all  consider "old" and use it upgrade my system at home. [:D]

AMD's soon releasing a motherboard that handles dual Athlon processors.  Can you imagine TWO 1200mhz processors, along with say 512mb of RAM?

I just got:

The new Shotgun News
The new SWAT magazine

That gives me a good 2 hours of sit-on-the-can-until-I-can't-feel-my-legs-anymore quality reading.

Did you need a special permit for that assault computer?

Keep one of your rifles propped in the doorway where you keep that thing.  Never know when you might find it "self aware" one morning, and attempting to take over your house!
