Idiot Liberal talking points.
We are giving financial aid to Ukraine for all residents there in addition to giving arms for defense.
The fact that someone receiving financial aid is retired is irrelevant

Of course…

Guess when I am first eligible for the SS I’ve been paying into since 1989?

Yep, 2035.

I found the problem!

The overwhelming majority of people on  Supplemental Security Income are not over the age of 65-years old and about half as many people under the age of 18 are on SSI as are above 65 on it.

The proportion of SSI recipients aged 65 or older declined from 61% in January 1974 to 29% in December 2020. The overall long-term growth of the SSI program occurred because of an increase in the number of disabled recipients, most of whom are under age 65.

"Social security" and "supplemental security income" come from different pools of money and have no effect on each other.

Yet we are not running out of welfare, section 8 housing, food stamps or forgien aid for terrorist groups . Nor that ability to hire 53,000 new government employees a month.

Here is how to make it fair and equitable:

You get out the same percentage OF WHAT YOU PAY IN as anyone else WHO PARTICIPATES.

Oh, wait. Not everyone is productive.

I took SS as soon as I could.

"Be smart, wait until you are 70".

Nope, that is when the crisis hits and that assumes I make it to 70 (which I hope to but you never know).

The Government is run like a Mafia Bust-out.

A bunch of criminals took over and are racking up the debt as fast as they can before it all collapses.

Whether or not you agree with social security, you almost never see government programs shrink, because that endangers the jobs of those who administer the program.

Unless you're wealthy. Then it's going somewhere.

I 100% expect means testing to be the cure for SS Old Age's problems. It's politically expedient and easier to pass than other options.

Only against earned income if you're under "full retirement age". Pretty sure I have that right... Just went down this rabbit hole with a friend the other day.

They will likely look at assets/pensions/unearned income in the future.

I ain't saying it's right. Just saying.

Edit for clarity.

I love that the three or four actual tards in congress support this. They face a little bit of a battle.

However, they already created a de-facto death tax on Roths so I wouldn't put it past them to mess with RMDs and a hybrid tax on tax-deferred earnings and income (a flat tax on the earnings on top of your owed income tax).

I read the latest figure is a reduction to 77% due to early retirements (due to Covid and the vaccine mandates).

Mark my words -there will be no reduction.  They will increase the retirement age a bit and increase the earnings subject to the SS tax.

Or they will print money so inflation will solve the problem.
