We'll know in a week or so when it works its way around the backside and comes back to see us later.

We might take some plasma from it but nothing to cause more Auroras.  The sun spot that’s creating all these X class flare will be directed away from earth the next 10 days or so.

Thanks. Hoping for a chance to auroras again. It was cloudy this past time

GOES 18 detected an X3.48 from beyond the limb a couple hours ago so probably another X4ish flare from 3664. That puts it at 12 X class flares total now which I believe is a new record for the most X class flares ever from a single sunspot region.

Hopefully it’s still pumping them out when it comes back around. I could stand to watch more of that show.

Lots of fun incoming, I'm sure the show isn't over yet.

Solar Orbiter which had an unobstructed view of 3664 measured the X3.48 from this morning at X9.

And we had another X flare on the opposite limb of X2.99. That spot that produced it will be rotating into view in the next couple days.

X Class Solar Flare From NEW Sunspots

We're still a year or two from the peak of this solar cycle.  If things stay this hot for the duration, it might be bunker building time.

Bump for the Return of the CME-Spitting Sunspots

Looks like the sunspot group that caused all the ruckus last week is rotating back around from the far side of the sun starting today, and is still feisty.

Yep!

There also some huge filaments facing earth as well. Hopefully they don’t release our way.

My cell service has been degraded this month. I'm wondering if that is somehow related.
