Likewise.  It's possible I'll have OK conditions in San Diego County.  I should charge up batteries tonight.

set a reminder for later so I don't forget like I usually do.

Forecast shows it's supposed to be clear tonight.

The launch time is now 8:50 PM PDT so it will be adequately dark along the west coast.  I do not know if the second stage will be sunlit.

Their site is saying 8:50-9:42. Not sure which one it is, or any time in between?

Probably too late for any really good back-lit stuff and I have a lot of low clouds in San Diego, but I'll stay on it.

I just drove down to the Oceanside harbor without checking for launch time update.  It’s only like 10 mins away.

A little marine layer haze going on.

I doubt it but when it goes try to look for it.   I do not know the eastern limit of seeing a launch from Vandenberg.  Read Page 1, post 1.

The El Paso area can see it.

When we saw the last one, it was maybe 10° above the horizon. We're on the eastern edge of NM

The 9 May, 820 PM PDT launch time is just after civil twilight in Los Angeles so that could be good timing for everyone.

Can you give a nearby city/town.  That will extend the eastern limit of visibility.  Today I started plotting locations on a map where it has been seen.

Very nice.   I was going to look for tonight's launch from Colorado Springs but when I mapped several places that have seen it like El Paso, I am too far away to have a chance to see it.

I did see the Crew-7 re-entry.

Those are nice.  For others wanting to photograph it, can you give relevant camera focal length and exposure data?  Also, can you provide info on date/time so we can understand how soon after sunset it can be seen like that?

Here is an initial map of jellyfish sightings.  Tucson and Phoenix are not marked but they should have visibility.  If you are curious which way to look, from your location determine the direction to Los Angeles and San Diego and as that as a start and move more to the south as the second stage burn continues...usually to about 8 minutes 43 seconds after launch.  For many people it will be low on the horizon so find a place with minimal obstructions for your viewing location.

Just a bump for people who missed this.

Here is an update from Launch Schedule

@Featureless your EXIF data is still attached to your photos as an FYI.

@AmericanPeople  Here is what I pulled from his photos.   I pulled out my mirrorless for tonights launch and I got my settings guess close to what he did!  Was gonna use iso-800, f5.6, 1/60s-1/100s since it is a bright object moving fast in a dark environment.

Thanks Freeride.   It is amazing that an iPhone gets such good images.  You can see the fairing's thruster firings.

That data may help California Kid or others using telephoto lens cameras.

Indeed, and I am grateful.  I think I'll just use my full-frame DSLR body with a 300 f/4 lens and see what I can get.  The biggest problem I have today is clouds.  It may become hopeless in the next couple of hours.

Probably too late for others for tonight's planning.  These were probably taken with a Sony 200-600 zoom. There's a slight possibility I tried with the aps-c  70-350?  but not likely?  Zoomed to track more easily.

Thanks, @AmericanPeople.

I’m in Ontario, Cali for my monthly trip to the corporate office. I spent the last couple of days driving around that shithole Los Angeles.

If we can see the jellyfish tonight, it’ll make my trip to Commiefornia suck a lot less and I’ll score some big points with the girls working the desk at my hotel.
