The term isn't Russian, so it can be quite liberal in its usage. Anything that is more or less an AKS-74U in size can probably carry the term.
My bigger problem was when they sold an "AK-103" with a fixed stock. |

People wanted a what is commonly called a "Krinkov" because it has some standout characteristics for size and looks. People can't have one because they are not common parts kits, not made in the USA, prohibited by import and NFA in most configurations. PSA made a clone in a caliber people could seemingly get - anticipating shortages with a Russian war in Ukraine that also allows same profile magazine. I have a Mini-beryl, love it, it is superior to many AKs It still doesn't look like a prolific Krinkov - I customized my Beryl by adding side folder triangle stock and trunnion, laminated wood, conse style flash, modified a folding top cover to get the look, still want a PSA. .223 AK mags have similar profile as 74 mags in 5.45, and you can even use bakelites in it for the lookt many want. Krink is just slav for Kurtz. So it's a K-AK.
That is far more logical than your anal retentive application of a fabricated slang term, and just as dumb to argue about. |

Had a post sample AKS-74U and loved it.
I will be purchasing a PSA Krink for sure when they come out in 5.45 (Have piles of 7N6 still) |

These guns aren’t exactly common even in semi auto. When it’s all said and done, if it’s not select fire, it’s still a copy. Like the majority of guns popular with folks like us, the best most people can do is to get the closest thing possible. That 84 Tula looks awesome. I’ve got a Bulgarian kit with a Childers receiver I need to get finished, come to think of it. |
