Sorry missed this.

Too long. It's in a few more pieces right now, plan is to get a few weekends in this year. Top end is done, but I think I need to replace ignition module it's missing at high RPMs and I've tried everything else.

@CDW4ME
I wrapped it myself after getting insanely high quotes to wrap it and watching a couple dozen youtube videos.

I started with the 883 Iron in my avatar and had both for a few years. Keep it and get a used Road King. Deals on older ones are out there

The bars are 1 inch drag bars from TC Bros. It has 6 inch Choppers inc risers. (Choppers Surplus sells them). I had them powder coated black.

Riding a slow bike fast is funner than riding a fast bike slow…however it’s not always as fast I’d like to get me OUT of trouble from vehicles, and the top speed really limits rides. It was really to load on the back of the camper van I don’t own…yet.

I knocked the gearing down a tooth on my Monkey, lots of fun putting around in the Monkey Zone
ETA: also nice for putting around in campgrounds.

I had that same disbelief on my 2008 GW. It makes you never want to change it
again. The last time I did I did cover the intakes with a wire mesh to keep the mice
out. I didn't want a nest in the air box.

Those are beautiful bikes for sure! I'm really tempted to look for a GPz, Bandit, old Sabre or such. I really like the bikes of that era, they are so much better looking than anything made today. I really don't know why all new cars and bikes have to be so freakin' ugly, just no style or proportions at all.

So the wife is studying to be a nurse. She was having difficulty discussing "involuntary muscle contractions" in class because English is not her primary language. So the professor tries to explain it easier and asks her " When you are having an orgasm, what is your asshole doing"? She thinks momentarily and replies "He is usually riding his motorcycle".

In the FWIW section. I was at a nearby dealership on Sunday buying oil and fogging spray, parts guy called a sales guy. The sales guy bought my bike that day. I didn’t bother to get it running. He just texted me, he washed it, put in fresh gas. It fired right up and everything is 100%. He’s not going to race it, he wants a “museum” piece. He was pretty shocked when he saw it.

Yesterday was a new bike day.

Sold the Transalp for a number of reasons and got a Rebel 1100T

DCT, it's an automatic, and 25 years of shifting (though you can still manually shift)...I really like it, it's seamless.

Today's even better for riding, ready to head out.
