Picked up one of the new Colt 6” King Cobra .22. I put wood grips from another Colt on it and replaced the rear sight with a Kensight version. Here shown with my 80’s Diamondback 6” .22. Old meets new.

My brother and I inherited a pile of old Smifs from my father after he passed last month. A sample:
 Attached FileTop to bottom: M-1917 .45 ACP, post-war Military & Police .38 "pre-Model 10" circa 1948 - 52, and a Model 547 in 9mm for the cancelled French contract. Per something I recently found online by C.E. Harris on another forum, the 547s couldn't handle heavy use with Euro-spec 9mm. The Ruger Speed Sixes they replaced them would, however. The grip adapters are all from Robertson Trading Post and were installed today. They're for K/L-Frames but as you can see, fit the N-Frame 1917 OK. |

It's still Revolver Month, guys.
New to me 1982-vintage 2.75" Ruger Speed Six in .357. I bought it from Robertson Trading Post via Gunbroker.  Attached File Attached FileAside from what are purported to be squadron markings, the gun is in excellent shape and appears to have been barely shot. It's very clean and the action is smooth for a Ruger. It had a set of Sile rubber grips on it which are actually meant for a Security or Service Six with a square butt. I got this set of NOS Pachmayr Compacs off eBay for under $20 shipped. They fit the gun better and feel like they were made for me. |

I picked up a no dash model 17 today. Made in 1958. It’s in beautiful condition.
I killed a couple of hours at Bass Pro last week, and they had one in the case that I fell in love with. Didn’t have time to mess with buying that one, but found this on Gunbroker. I would have preferred target stocks, but this one was too nice to pass up. Looks like it’s hardly been used. I have some target stocks coming from eBay, and I’ll keep my eyes open for a set of the correct vintage.  Attached File Attached File |

Bump for Wheelgun Wednesday!
New-to-me S&W Model 1905, 4th Change M&P in .32 WCF (.32-20). I installed the Pachmayr grip adapter.  Attached FileThe right side shows more wear.  Attached FileThe bore and chambers are VG. The inside of the action was clean.  Attached FileThe no-medallion grips put it as 1920s-vintage. The serial number is higher than when they started heat treating the cylinders. I don't plan to hot rod it but it's nice to know I don't need to feed it powder puff loads, either. |

It's been a long time since I've been a revolver owner, and damn I missed the ones I had. I've started picking some favorites back up and I'm absolutely looking forward to getting some muzzle flash photos with them in the fall. (Muzzle flash photo is from 9 years ago)
The SP101 Wiley Clapp had some small internal burrs that were pretty easy to work out. The Match Champion was pristine though, even with the trigger and hammer shimmed to remove any sideways movement. Both got Wilson Combat springs and the MC got some Altamont snake scale grips. Otherwise I'm not touching anything on them. Now I just need a S&W 617.

I had shimmed a wilson mainspring but still got light strikes. I put the stock one back I'm. Unfortunately it killed my times today
