I have a Remington Model #81 "Woodsmaster" caliber .30remington that I am trying to find out more info about.  Can anyone direct me to a good web site source that gives info/research on old firearms?  I have tried the Remington site, but it was no help.  Or does anyone themselves know anything about this rifle?

Try Tuco's collectors forum.  somebody there might be able to point you in the right direction.

Try the Remington site.   Search around for the "obsolete" and "parts" sections.
I have a 1st year 740 Woodsmaster in .30-06 with  a 5-digit serial # that I was researching, and found that there are a number of places that have info on it or parts for it.
