Ain't that the truth?  Can you imagine the drama NBC can conjure up if they have 18-20 different winners to work with come playoff time?

PaPaw needs to man up and find another driver for that seat. Austin hasn't done too much and is inconsistent week in and week out.

A pet peeve.

TV should show the time split to the next car ahead instead of the time split to the leader.

Thank you for your attention.

The new short track package was a bust.  They can dick around with aero until the cows come home but it isn't going to matter.

These cars need HP under the hood. Period.

I agree that the playoff system is false drama.  Especially, the final-race-determines-the-champion is bullshit.

Stage racing very effectively increases the entertainment value of the race.

  • More racing for the lead.

  • More cars on the lead lap.  (I've been a drive-by fan long enough to have seen races where the leader was several laps ahead of third place.

  • TV can package the commercials into a known block.  Much less pass-for-the-lead happening during a "station break".

"Wave around" is also good.  I've also been a drive-by fan long enough to have seen races where laps-down cars re-started ahead of the leader causing all sorts of chaos and confusion.

"Next Gen" car is the kitties titties.  I don't care/want to see hybrids.  Don't care if the OEMs drop out of the sport either.

Will the Camaro be replaced by Corvette?  Wouldn't be much worse than the "Supra" in Infinity.

Truck series should go with SUV bodies.  Truck show is fine with spec Ilmor engines - maybe Cup should go that way to entice KIA and BMW and Stellantis to come play.

  • There are 5-6 laps of "racing for the lead" every race...about a lap or two after every faux caution.  If that's enough to rustle your Jimmies, good for you I guess.
  • The commercial time never decreased after implementing staged racing, if anything it probably increased.

The clowns at Nascar so badly want to bring it to the level of a stick-and-ball sport with cute little intermissions (quarters/innings/periods) but it will never be that. It was all a lie and an illusion to attract simpletons that have the attention span of a fly and to cover up the failure of their car design and it didn't work.  Now we're left with slot cars fake drafting each other, huge gaps of pre-determined commercial time, followed by two laps of more fake drafting for the lead before going right back to the normal commercial breaks while the field stretches out to log laps.

Total garbage.
