God bless you, my son. Dealing with dangerous, speeding, tailgating assholes on the Interstate is a mission that more people need to undertake. Assholes who don't understand things like reaction time at high speed and how they could kill/maim the people in front of them if there was an emergency up the road that word force the victim to slow down. People who tailgate should have their balls removed...with a hammer. ...and this post reminds me that probably a very high percentage of the assholes that tailgate and drive at "reckless/borderline deadly speeds" are fucking assholes who post here. Fuckwads that don't respect other peoples' lives and safety; well, because to do so would force them to drive within the confines of the law and respect the lives and safety of other fucking people. Because apparently, the 2 minutes that they shave off of their time on the Interstate on their way to get their man-purses or fanny-packs bedazzled is worth more to them than other peoples' lives and property. When reminded of what douches they are; the best that they can come up with is---"stay out of the fast lane" or "drive faster." Hey---dumbfucks out there; there is no such thing as a "FAST LANE." There is a passing lane (that you're still not allowed to speed/break the law in) to pass extremely slow vehicles on the Interstate. That doesn't mean just because you occupy the passing lane that you get to drive 15-40 miles over the fucking speed limit and lose control of your vehicle because you're snap-chatting dick pics and trading them with your favorite Brazilian She-Males and fucking run into somebody and kill them. Your fucking convenience, need to be on time, or impatience in not worth my life and property. Fucking period. View Quote |

In 2012 I sliced my wrist open on accident causing me to have two surgeries, I was bleeding. A lot. My wife was taking me to the ER, as I was turning white in the passenger seat, on the verge of passing out. She was driving at a pretty good clip when she got stuck behind someone in the left lane who would not move out of the way and did the same thing that you did, tried to box her in with a truck. She ended up passing on the shoulder to get around the guy just in time to scoot all the way over to make the exit to the hospital. The point is, you have no clue what is going on in the vehicle behind you, it could be an emergency. If faster traffic is coming, just move over. It is not your job to police the traffic around you. Fuck waiting on an amberlamps, somebody call me a cab... |

When my wife was in labor and I was speeding to the hospital (30 min away), everyone got over except one asshole that decided he would box me in. This went on for a few minutes and I passed the asshole on the shoulder when I had adequate view downrange. I flipped him off as I passed him. The baby was born about 18 minutes after arriving at the hospital. Sure, I almost had to deliver a baby on the side of the interstate, but hey, this self righteous douche bag knew I was just an impatient speeder, and he obviously has the authority to control the speed of other traffic, since he knows everything.

what I do with people like OP is eventually get around them, usually by driving on the shoulder . then get in front of them and slowly decrease my speed to 20 mph on a highway. I can do it for miles. let everyone pass on the right until dipshits like op get the hint.

This is why we can't have fast rodes. American drivers can be obstinate idiots.
Lane discipline is important. First, always move to the farthest right lane that can serve your purpose. If you're already in the farthest right lane (slowest lane) then it's the person who is coming up behind you that needs to pass on your left. If you are on a two-lane road and a person is passing you, as they pass slow down, and let them pass more quickly. Second, never pass on the right. I personally don't speed anymore. It's not worth it for me, and my time management is much better than it once was. But I think it's important to maintain good lane discipline. ....and most Americans haven't a clue what that is. |
|
Pretty sure that shit would get OP a ticket here in MO. They have digital signs all over the interstates warning against camping in the left/passing lane like that.

That is incredibly dangerous, and if he had caused a collision, he would have just said "accidents happen". No, accidents are caused. |

I drive like you also. 10-15 over the speed limit in the center or left lane. Im usually passing everyone and every now and then some jack wagon comes flying up beside me or behind me. A lot of times they will try to cut me off before I can pass but I just floor it and they have to slam on the brakes and get behind me again.
