Nice buy, those things have some torque! Battery life is also excellent. Those dewalt brass colored drill bits are trash just FYI.

Everything I have at work is Milwaukee. Dewalt is GTG though. Lots of guys at work use Dewalt too. I like to have everything use the same battery packs and chargers
and I think Milwaukee was one of the first to start standardizing their tools powerpacks. I know Sears started doing the same with their cordless tools. |

As a guy that's spent his whole life with tools in my hands that's mind boggling. Really? Never owned a drill? How does that happen?

I never owned a drill until 25 yrs old. The Gov provided my tools. At 25 got a DeWalt. Now I have all Milwaukee.

Good choice, after nerd researching that's the same one I got, though I got the one that also came with the impact drill.

If it doesn't breathe or bleed, I probably shouldn't be working on it....that said, I needed a drill. I've never owned one. I went and got one. 117 OTD. Now I gotta figure out how to work it. http://i.imgur.com/9j5LVaw.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/JAMpi0H.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/HlbhSN1.jpg?1 View Quote Meh, mine's ok. But mine had trouble driving in a lot of 3 inch tapcons, it now doesn't stay on the highest torque setting it just "jumps" out of it to a lower torque |

I hear weedeater string or line in place of the tie wire works even better. In a pinch, I think I have used a 1/4 inch hammer drill bit and an 8d and a 16d nail hammered in together at the same time. |

Remember op, 1 is low speed/high torque and 2 is high speed/low torque

[#35]
Yes, OP, ya dun real good.
If you need a discrete range bag, that Dewalt bag is perfect. If your neighbors see you walking to your car (as you are headed to the range), they will just think you are going to work on somebody's house. |

I have the non-brushless model that costs around $100 and it's been pretty good for me so far. The brushless model was a lot more at the time when I bought mine (from Lowe's as well).

Yep you done good OP. Even if used professionally the drill motor will get you through a year or two. Good buy.

I used to have an old dewalt cordless,it was akin to the brick cell phones.

I'm in construction and while I would never get rid of my impact driver, if you can only have one the drill is more versatile.

Those smaller drill bits are easy to break. Mine lasted about two weeks before the wife got ahold of them.
