Denzel Washington, Robert Duvall, Jack Nicholson
Michael Phelps would probably be at the top had he not had the DUI incidents. |

Jordan is a Black Lies Matter supporter.
I don't care for entertainers, whether they be singers, actors, or ball players. I do not care for anyone who is anti-gun, anti-American, Black Lies Matter supporting garbage and is anything other than a pro-American zealot. Of course there are those pussies who give up their girlfriend/wife to please the high school and/or college basketball/football teams and fantasize about licking some ghetto gobblin's asshole. Many people worship do-nothing, anti-American, Black Lies Matter supporting thugs who play a children's game for a living. YMMV . |

The closest I can come to thinking of someone is Stephen Hawking, but his personal life was somewhat troubled, and he's a Brit. Oh there are plenty of hardcore religious tards who hate Hawking because he doesn't preach the "God did it" model of physics. What has he done? Has he solved the Theory of Everything? How long has he been working on it? Stephen Hawking developed a mathematical proof for black holes. He proved Einstein's theory of general relativity. Through math and science, Stephen redefined the Big Bang theory. Also Stephen Hawking proved the universe has no boundaries. Until he figures a way to harness gravity and provide me that flying car I was promised, he shall forever be known as: "token handicapped science guy". |

I didn't say he is universally respected. My response was to the question "what does he contribute besides making himself famous/wealthy?"

Probably the most interesting, unintentially self-revealing post in this thread. You need to ask yourself why. In an age where everyone's dirty laundry is for sale, being "universally admired" would require a ridiculously high level of character. Being contrarian for the sake of being "different" is strong evidence of serious ego issues. You ok? View Quote |

He's a master at avoiding politics. Most rap artists can't seem to stfu but somehow he manages to avoid it. View Quote http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2017/02/03/eminem-calls-trump-a-bitch-raps-about-sexually-assaulting-ann-coulter/ |

He's dead now, but Fred Rogers is probably about the closest thing to universally admired as I can think of.

Oh shit, dead now, but Bob Ross.
Also, Shaq seems like a genuinely cool and funny guy. |

Religious figure? Nope.
Politician? Lolol...olol. Actor/Actress? Ehh...most are politically or religiously outspoken. So probably not. Sports figure? Maybe, but many are plagued by scandal, criminals or see above. Scientific community? No. Science itself has become very politically and religiously motivated and divided. Musician? This is my best bet. Someone in a universally appreciated genre, that isn't politically or religiously motivated. Music can appeal to anyone without a message or motivation that divides. ETA - Tom Selleck? Hmmm... |

JEJ, maybe. Morgan Freeman was good to go until the car wreck/adultery scandal a few years ago earned him some haters. Harrison Ford, maybe. Jordan is probably at the top of the list. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who dislikes him outside of the "bunch of thugs who get paid way too much to play a kids game" segment of sad non-athletic pussies who are still holding a grudge because the jocks got all the girls in high school. Hating the Cowboys seems to be the cool thing to do nowadays so Emmitt gets hated by default. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

James Earl Jones Morgan Freeman Harrison Ford Michael Jordan Emmitt Smith Those are the most upstanding people I can think of at the moment that are generally regarded well. Now I await the one ArfCommer that got beat up for his lunch money by JEJ and dunked on by a punk-kid 15yr old Jordan 30yrs later. Levar Burton?
Marc Summers? I'm leaning more towards "don't dislike " vs admire though. |

It depends on how well known someone is. Mostly, they get accolades based on achievement when very old, or dead.
I vote for Dr. Pearlmuter, author of Grain Brain. Even if you don't agree with him, he comes across as a very good human being. |

Nope. Ironically we are hated by half of conservatives for being union and having a pension, even though most of us are pretty far to the right when it comes to politics and spend most of our career burnt out from dealing with the societal results of failed democratic policy. View Quote |
