Need an OWB kydex holster for a G42.
Looking for a good deal for good enough quality holster.
I would prefer one that rides tight to the body.

Tell me what you bought that was surprisingly good for not much money.

I've heard good things about the Outlaw brand of holsters from people I shoot IDPA with.

What's your definition of cheap?

I like my comptac for my g17

For me, cheap means diy.
I have comptac, and bladetech and both have been good.

Disregard the pos pistol, but made these myself.

Alienware makes owb holsters.  I am very pleased with their iwb holsters.

I have a lot of holsters from Blade Tech, but my new favorite company is KT Mech ...I really like that they're low profile and hug the body quite well.

Alien Gear holsters  http://aliengearholsters.com/owb-holsters.html

An "Alien Gear Cloak Slide OWB" $30 - $35, lifetime guarantee, comfortable to wear, holds gun close to body. Has been my daily carry holster for two years. Very satisfied with it.

Also they are a Arfcom site sponsor.

Damn, link or info on how to do this and costs?  Im sure a search would probably bring up a lot of info.  Want to make a few cheap holsters that I can mount to various things(inside truck, nightstand) so don't want to spend a big chunk of change

no, cheap is just that...cheap.

Inexpensive is subjective.

I dont think OWB and tight to body should be in the same description.

AIWB, IWB, IWB tuckable, yes, they go with tight to body, and if $60-$100 can or cannot be "inexpensive".

Recently purchased one of these for my G43, after adding a TLR6.  I went from a Raven to the $40 Outlaw and find no functional difference aside from the sweat guard.

Why? Nobody ever listens. They buy shit that is poorly built and think it's cool. Meanwhile they have never done any of the things that happen in a fight while wearing said holster.

Just buy whatever is cheapest.

Patriot Holsters.  According to this thread earlier, they will cater to anyone and their turn around time is note-worthy.

First KT Mech holster for me.

It's well made and is actually pretty comfortable for being a light bearing holster.

Price was right too.

I'll second KT. Solid holster for a very reasonable price and it does keep it nice and snug to the body.

From Wiki "The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which low-ability individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly assessing their ability as much higher than it really is"

Dude, don't be so hard on yourself. Your ability probably doesn't keep you from living a kick ass life.

Not to be a debbie downer, but most DIY holster guys make shitty holsters. Can you make a proper holster that retains, doesn't make weird wear marks on your finish, clears the shit its supposed to clear, fits well and presents well? Sure. Those guys usually have lots of practice and end up selling holsters

KT Mech or Shadow Holsters (owner is a site member).  Both offer excellent quality at a reasonable price.

Frankly, unless you plan to DIY, there's only cheap you can go on kydex.  I'd be leary of a new pop up online business advertising kydex at too-good-to-believe prices.  You may find yourself waiting a long, long time for a holster.
