It's easy to sell them.  It's not so easy to sell them for a profit, except for transferrable machine guns.

Local pawn/gunshop that deals in black guns is still very busy right now. Selling a few magazines, quite a big of ammo, doing mods- trigger jobs, threading etc....Lots of trading going on.....They stay pretty busy it seems.

It's a buyer's market.  AR sales have died.  The polymer pistol market is awash in inventory.  Older revolvers are still holding their own.  The 1911 market seems pretty quiet.

Guns can always be moved.  It's just a question of how cheap do you price it.

Things must be priced correctly.

My friend at Cabela's told me they had a corporate mandate to not buy any ARs right now.

Not as easy as it is to buy them

After 8 years of record-breaking gun sales under a politically hostile environment, is it any big surprise that demand dropped off sharply once the political winds started blowing in the opposite direction?

Depends on the prices.

Price it cheap enough and it will sell.

It's going to be a rough couple years for a bunch of shops though.  I will probably pick up in four years though.

I know I have not bought much for a few months.

On a similar note, the used motorcycle market is stagnant as hell too.  At least on the Harley side, there are way more used bikes out there than buyers.

I may move a couple cheap ARs. I never shoot. $350 is a realistic number right now if you actually want to sell them. Crazy.

My local shops have dusty ARs on the shelves and seem to be hurting. Little shops that opened during the boom are going away one-by-one too.
However stores that specialize in C&R or oddball stuff seem to be doing just fine.

The American firearms industry was driven almost entirely by panic-buying for 8 years, and now if they want to sell they are going to have to innovate.

Within the past 3 months I've sold a FN15 M4gery for MSRP, and a DDV7 LW (the hot new Mlok one) for under wholesale.  The fact that I had to price the DD where I did to get it to move fast is as sure and indicator as there can be, its a tough market.  That was on the EE here though, above average levels of consumer education and cheapness  The FN was just before Christmas in a face to face, it was exactly what her husband wanted and she couldn't find one anywhere.  Not much room on the market for an $1150 M4 any more, nor should there be.

Who had that thread a few days ago about beat to shit Ruger P85's for $200?

I was looking at near perfect condition stainless P85's on Gunbroker last night. There's several listed for around $300, but I didn't see any with bids on them. I was all ready to sell mine till I saw that.

I look at guns for sale every day and just don't see a damn thing that I want or need

I like supporting smaller privately owned gun shops.

Maybe pay a few more scheckles but I like the idea of buying from an owner. As long as he's honorable, we have one near the house I wouldnt buy a damn thing from because he likes to screw his customers, "keeping spare magazines" "exchanging sights", little piddly shit that cost him his LE business.

If it's that hard to sell... then I must be keeping my local shops in business.

Have been on a record spree (for me) since the election...

SA RO

Sig Ultra Carry

CA C308

S&W 329PD

S&W 28-2

Kimber K6s

I really need to stop the sickness. The safes are full-up!

Real stuff made last century with wood sells fine, I partook in Rock Islands auction last week and they sold pretty much everything at a solid price. I sold two 22 target rifles both in under 24 hours for a small profit. Good luck selling plastic right now, local ftf maybe.
