Amen. An AW at this point unless it was marked wayyyy down makes no sense. Interchangeable barrels at the turn of an allen bolt for the win.

USO is lagging behind these days.  Nightforce ATACR, Schmidt, and March are better optics.

what's an AT
Newest offering from AI. Has interchangeable barrels like the AXMC but a traditional AI butt stock. Only available in short action. Folder or fixed. Uses double stack AW mags. Fluted bolt for cold weather.

I work in the industry and the last rifle/optic package I sold was $8,900.

That was just a nice lightweight 1,000yd-capable hunting rifle.  There's a .408 CheyTac waiting to be finished and the bill on that one is around $14,000 (but it has a suppressor, ammo, etc. that add quite a bit to the cost).

There are a lot of serious long range shooters in this part of the country.

Is this pre-or-post movement nerf? AWP really lost a lot of potency when they halved the zoomed movement speed.

According to Tom at AI (here)

The flutes on the AI bolts started with the AW back in 1991. There was a requirement from the Swedish Army to hose the rifle in water and place in an industrial fridge for the weekend, after which the bolt had to open. Without the flutes it was frozen solid, with the flutes it was fine. An added feature is that it assists with clearing sand and dirt.

The DMR IIi would be a very nice scope for that rifle.  I had a DMR on my AI AT for awhile and only sold it because I got a smoking deal on a Gen II Razor.

Shitty cell phone shot of mine. Was a demo rifle. 7.62x51, fluted 20" barrel with SAS mount and IOR optic.

Ciraxis and I discussed over gin, or bourbon maybe I can't remember, taking pics of it with a de-logo'ed Barska mounted and posting it as a serious thread just to see how long it would take for GD to figure it out.

There are at least 3 ranges in PA that are 1000 yards or greater.  I'd imagine that there's at least 1 in NY.  Otherwise, drive a couple hours.

If you can afford to spend 5 grand on a rifle, along with another 2 or 3 grand on a scope, you can afford to sling $5 bills downrange at 3000 feet per second.

I want one.  Would like it in a magnum chambering, probably .300WM.  I'm drawn to iconic and classic firearms even if they have been 'replaced' by something generally considered better.  I just don't have the willingness to spend that much or the real estate to host a "for shits and giggles" collection.  But one day....
