So I went fishing in the creek that borders my place.
Had been fishing for about 15min under a rail bridge... No bites so I turned around. Attached File I heard something behind me and turned around to see a coyote taking off on the west side of creek. Attached File So I turned back around and went towards the log jam. I was looking to see if there was a den site or something. As I approached the jam, I see another coyote coming out into the log jam looking for the one that ran off. I drew as soon as I saw it and when it came out on log, it turns and looks at me, but I already had my sight picture... Bang , she spin and ran way she came, I shot another as she ran. Had to turn around go back to bridge to get out of yak. Walked towards where she ran to was laying 35 yds from where I shot her. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

And I agree with you 100% Defenders of the yote be damned. They are fucking cockroaches with teeth, fur, and an appetite. Shooting 1 or 10 hardly makes a dent. Anyone telling you different is a coffee shop cruising non work boot owning Prius owner. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Nice shooting. There was a time I was on the fence about killing coyotes. I got my first hint they might need killing when we'd walk the dogs back a two track road through a massive weed field. Coinciding with when the first fawns were born we'd see coyote scat, always with deer hair, all through the summer.

A buddys dad has a farm less than five miles from me. His mom was watching his sons six year old dachshund and let him out to piss... gone. Found coyote tracks the next morning. Coyotes also tried to dig up his sisters dog they had just buried out in the field. Fuck yotes.

Awesome shot, best thread I've clicked on in a while.
ETA: coyotes are trash that wreck deer, turkey, and pheasant populations here. I shoot every one I see. |

I bought some of those RMR HSTs the ones I received were in perfect condition.
What was the shot distance? Looks like perfect shot placement, was that point of aim or a little luck? |

Wow that's a great shot. I can say without any doubt I could not make the same shot with my G43. Can't shoot that thing worth a fuck.

That's a nice shot. Don't you know you're never supposed to admit to a lucky shot?
For those who don't know: Killing yotes around here is no different than killing mice, rats, hogs. They are vermin. You'll never eradicate them. Shooting everyone you see would still not keep ahead of the numbers. |

coyotes are remarkably adaptable creatures. They will fill their enviromental niche quickly. Give them food, they have huge litters, cut the food back and the litter size adjusts accordingly. Take away a food source, and they find another - usually one more annoying to you.
I have to admit however, it is rare as hell where I am to ever see them during the day - it has only happened a few times in my life. Hunt them in the day, they become nocturnal real quick |

That's a good shot.
I carry bigger guns for situations like that because trying to shoot running varmints with a small gun is hard |
