Did they have a gopro?
That level of stupid should be recorded so other kids can learn from it for years to come. |

there was a sign
Neighbors said local teens who don’t live there often climb to the top of 57-59 Grove St. and hang out, ignoring a sign posted at the front door warning that “residents only” are allowed inside. |

Did a lot of stupid shit when I was a kid in the name of adventure. We didn't have the internet, mobile phones, 200 channels of TV, or helicopter parents. And we had a ball...especially when we weren't caught.
There but for the grace of God. RIP kid. |

They like to ride on top of the elevators as well.
On occassion, it's a one way ride; doesn't stop the others from doing it though. |

While that term didn't exist (nor did gopros or the internet), we explored abandoned buildings, storm drains, railroad tracks, construction sites etc. Many close calls were had. |

I have walked on top of parapets in NYC much higher and more than once.
If I had tried to leap 7 feet I probably would have made it. Poor kid. |

If from a standing position with no running start, 7" is above average distance. With a running start, that should have been easily clearable.
