Bulldozer car crash

Executive summary:

Truck driver attempts to load dozer on low-boy
Some kind of way, the rig and dozer are across I-55
Woman hits rig and dozer at highway speeds, dies at the scene
Truck driver cited.

I don't have my CDL but damn, blocking the interstate with out flags or assistance from police doesn't seem smart.

I read it as the bulldozer was in the median and the lowboy was parked on the right shoulder.  The bulldozer driver was driving the bulldozer across the roadway from the median to the lowboy on the right shoulder when the motorist hit the bulldozer.

That was a really dumb move on the bulldozer driver's part.  Ugh.

lugnut rule

Damn, I've smoked a couple deer popping out unannounced from the ditch at night but thankfully never had a fucking bulldozer rear it's ugly head.

I'd pay a dollar to see that crash test.

I'm a disciple of the lugnut rule but the track rule overrides it bigtime!

Surely they had a crossing permit from the DOT with an MUTCD compliant TCP, right?

Did they have tires down or were they destroying the road with the dozer? I have tracked dozers across pavement many times and we always laid used tires down for the dozer to drive on so it didn't fuck up the road.

I generally see tires with plywood on the tires.

Not a thing was in the area, nothing

Massive fuckup by the driver loading that dozer.  Driving a bulldozer across an active interstate 30 minutes after sunset.

At night. On a weekend. No lights. No help.

I'm going to guess over sized / over weight. And the driver didn't have the permits to haul it.

I see it all the time.

Funnest one was a company tried to move a complete, 175 ton track crane on a Sunday night.

They almost made it.

Except the trailer broke in half in the middle of the road.

He should be forced to walk across the interstate every night, back and forth, no lights, just walking across the traffic lanes.

Remember this is the media that thinks a sks in an ar15.

It could have been a skid steer or backhoe.
