I breastfeed my baby in public, no bothers given. I try to be discreet in that I wear clothing that is fairly easy access and keeps most things covered, but I don't haul around one of those breastfeeding burqas or anything.
If it offends you, go be triggered somewhere else. It's not dirty. It's not a public health hazard. It's not an abnormal, freakish behavior, so get over it. Comparing it to shitting, pissing, or masturbation is pure ignorance. It's comparable to you having a meal or snack, which, incidentally, I don't see too many people hiding under blankets or rushing to a bathroom to do. This is the only nation outside of some fairly retarded Muslim countries where people even bat an eyelash, and it's because of the demonization of breastfeeding back in the middle of the last century. Science thought it was superior to God/nature with the advent of formula and instituted a campaign to portray women who chose breastfeeding instead of formula as low class, dirty child abusers. Prior to that, it was completely normal to see women breastfeeding in public. And now the damage has been done, and they've had to do their damndest to reverse it. Meanwhile, we as a nation get fatter and the very first lesson in instinctual appetite regulation is considered offensive.

No cover doesn't mean my boob is hanging out. If I even try to cover my son he freaks out, unlatches, pulls the cover off. That leaves me exposed with a screaming baby. Instead my shirt or a burp cloth can cover most of my breast and you don't really see anything.

I take my children out to restaurants and to picnics, amusement parks, museums, and movie theaters ... all sorts of places where they eat ... and if I don't have to cover myself while eating then neither do they. Granted, my wife and I were never blessed with biological children (therefore no breastfeeding) so we adopted . . . but I've never seen a woman breastfeeding her child and become offended. Tits aren't just hot. They have an actual purpose. It isn't sexual. It isn't rude or demoralizing or unsightly. It's a hungry child being fed by its mother. It's not a big deal.
