I've got my May form 4s back, both submitted as trusts around the middle of the month, and they were approved late last month.

I'm still waiting on two more, one submitted mid-June and the other early July.

I submitted a paper Form 1 for a 9mm Silencer for a Trust I am a party to.

Sent June 15, check cashed June 21, approved February 21. 8 months to the day.

Just waiting on the stamp now. I know its a Form 1 but they have always ran pretty close to the Form 4's in my experience.

May 1st check cashed Form 4 appeared at dealer on 2/25, approved 2/16. ETA: Trust.

I just called the nfa branch. Checks cashed for two sparrows on may 19, approved on Feb 24. Should be seeing the forms show up any day now. I don't have my serials for my omega, but it was purchased the same day.

A fellow arfcom buddy of mine just got his approval yesterday for a can purchased in mid may.

I was about a week behind him for 2 cans through the same dealer, expecting to hear something any day now. I purchased on 5/23

They'll want the serial number of whatever you're checking on, your name (or trust name if you filed as such) and the name of the dealer doing the transfer.

Call in, say you're wanting to check on the status of a form 4 and give them your info. I've talked to one or two dudes who were kinda jerks, but otherwise the majority of people I've talked to were very nice and helpful.

Bought my dead air mask in around the 12th of March 2016. Form 4 Sent in May 16 after 2 month form 3 approval time. When pending may 19th. Was approved February 8th and received my stamp on March 1. Almost a year from buying to picking it up. I still have 4 more in June.

No, I don't know about that. I just thought it would be good to have a thread where we can get an idea of where they stand with form 4s.

Looks like if someone submitted in mid May 2016 they're getting them back now.

I bought my first suppressor last year and the form 4 was submitted July 7th.

There's not really much rhyme or reason to the approvals right now as best as I can tell. There's always been examiners that have been faster than others, but right now no one can't make heads or tails of what's going on. I imagine there's so many they're sitting on that they're just trying to keep their heads above water. Long ago I learned to just mail it in and forget. No sense in getting antsy waiting. 2015 was a good year to send them in. I had some that were 60-90 turnaround and I do old school individual paper method.

I've got one I sent in last month. It'll get here when it gets here. I did however deviate from my norm and build it as a pistol first so I can at least enjoy it while waiting. This is the first time I didn't wait for back logs to clear out before sending one in though either. Probably will end up being my longest wait ever.

I Estimate that anybody sending in a Form 4 Today Might be APPROVED on or about November 7 of This Year. YMMV

Check out the group therapy thread. They're just starting to see approvals that went pending the first week of June '16. Latest I saw was a 6/21. So that's about 5 more weeks before the 7/13 fall off and the largest of the backlog.

I bet we see waits go over 300 before they make it through the big pile.

Then the question will be how many forms are there pending from 7/14/16 until present day? And if that number is low enough that the ATF does any reorganization for the decreased workload? Or will they just maintain staffing and blow through them in a couple weeks?

The only REAL Question is when the Base Wait Time will hit 300 Days. Hopefully the HPA will become Law before that happens.

The entire process is a fucking joke and a major infringement. I have a ton of money spent over a year ago and no timeframe of when my purchased goods will be delivered. It's a shame that our rights have been reduced to this.

At this rate I'm expecting my July F4's of 2016 sometime by December of this year, maybe early 2018

Amazing how something so simple can take so long. Along with it being an infringement on our rights.

ILast week, called the toll free number provided by Silencer Shop for the NFA branch. Recorded greeting stated process currently running eight months.
Had to provide product serial number, dealer, trust name.
In turn was only told date received and "pending." No other information provided. Guy sounded like I was bothering him.
It's now 8 months, 7 days since my trust paper form 4 was received... So now I guess it may be next week, or another month?!?!
The call was not a very productive use of my time.
