I would like to make a vote to integrate AR15.com with paypal so that every time someone sends a payment within 5 or 10 minutes, that positive feedback is left for the buyer.
There is a little sarcasm attached... |

When using the "Click Here to Attach an Image from your Media Library to this Post" button I only see the first six albums in my library and I'm able to post anything from those six albums. Nothing loads allowing me to page through to the next page of album. If I want to post anything else I must open the media library in a separate tab, open the pic, copy the addy and use the "post Image" button. It does this on my desktop (Win7) with Chrome or IE11 Browsers and on a Samsung Tab II using Chrome. Often times I want to quote several posts in my reply. Could we add a button to the posts we want to quote then when we hit reply or quote on the last post we want to quote - in the post rely box all the quoted posts are there in a single reply? Does that make sense? |

Google photos is really only designed for sharing through the actual app or photos website. I think there are some workarounds but it's not worth it IMHO. Create an imgur account (not needed but you can manage the photos you've uploaded that way) and just use it for your forum posts. Easiest way to do it. View Quote They share to other gun forums like The High Road, and The Firing Line just fine, just not here. The problem I have with imgur is that they can end up where photobucket is.....next management change. The one nice thing about Google photos is that the photos all upload by date. That means it's easy to go to a thread here, check the date, go to Google Photos to that date and there is all the photos you used. Just an update.
I pushed a bunch of changes the past two days, but they are all system/server heartbeat functions which were done to ensure our server migration and expansion goes smoothly. No real code updates for you guys, but this is a pretty big deal. For the techies. In our old system, each server was tagged with a server ID to help with debugging and heartbeat functions. We will be moving all servers, FINALLY!, out of NY and over to Amazon AWS. One of the critical additions with the move is the ability to spin up new servers automatically to cover high load times and then spin them down during low use times. So this new system no longer relies on a physical tagging and handles everything through AWS identifiers. It's something we should have done a while ago, but was working fine and not a real issue as we add new servers when needed and they typically handle load for a while before needing new servers. (In other words, we hit it with a sledge hammer to ensure we're good for a couple years of growth.) I will be monitoring the site for a few hours to ensure no issues with the new system. The rough ETA on the move to AWS is sometime in August. We will actually be done the work starting the first week of August, but there's a lot to do, so the actual site switch is not scheduled yet. |

It's cookie based, like your login, so odds are something is resetting or removing your cookie. You do not have to enable per forum, the avatars there are probably cached and will go away after a reload or a few page views. New threads should load normally since they aren't cached. View Quote Avatatars came back today. In GD I click disable, reload and they disappear. Run off to Urban Commandos, see avatars, reload, still see them, click disable and get confirmation, reload and they go away. Go to business and investing, see avatars, reload, still see, click disable and reload they go away. I believe you but I dont understand what could be causing it. And why avatar cookies when other things like colors, login, etc are not affected? My cookie settings are not set up to allow 3rd party cookies, but in my years of using Chrome, I have never enabled that. |

OK pushed a few fixes and some new stuff...
UPDATE ============== - ADMIN - fix for user group management system - misc page fixes to titles - 3GN/Competition shooting link added to forum list (how did we miss that!) - added google analytics to homepage for traffic analysis backup - locked threads will now show a lock icon for mobile users (no more wondering why you can't post in a thread!) - updated captcha system for server move and speed - fix to post preview to properly handle some html that was sneaking through - fix to site's sitemap files - fix to youtube links under videos - fix to upload system where it would fail to upload files with certain characters - NEW login page. The popup is gone in order to provide better security and meet new site standards. It will also ensure HTTPS is enabled. If you are having any issues, make sure the link is going to HTTPS://WWW.AR15.COM/LOGIN.HTML - I think there's a bug i need to fix that is not redirecting properly if coming from http. - added captcha to mobile login menu - NEW icon system in place for achievement/reward/fun! The new icon system is an expansion to the new group system launched with the new site. It will allow us to create icons based on progress. For example we will soon have an icon for years on the site. It's not a major bonus, but a nice way to see long time arfcommers. Additionally, we will be launching our image sharing and instagram icon. By sharing instagram photos of your gun pr0n, you can earn the icon and advance it from a single photo shared to master of IG photos. This helps the site put out cool photos on our stream, highlight your awesome shots, and reward you for sharing! The system has a TON of flexibility and we will surely come up with fun things to showcase. I will be fixing the login redirect issue and keeping an eye on any errors. |
