Is it possible to really improve fuel mileage on gas motors these days?

I know CAI and exhaust all claim to give +10% MPG and +10 HP but does anything actually pencil out in the real world?

All 6.0s have that unfortunately.
Can you get some vise grips on the part atciking out?
PB blast for a few days and hope for the best.
Or weld a nut on etc

well, changed plugs/wires in the chevy, got the gap set to .040, old plugs were fucked and looked like ape shit.   before I was getting 11ish mpg, it was 15 on this most recent tank.  and i noticed I drive way too many miles in a week

broke flush with manifold, so there is some sticking out of head.  I'll order headers and be sitting on go with the welder.  gonna start PB blast now so maybe it'll have time to work.  figure i'm a month out on actually doing it all

My big Jimmy has 92k, thinking about doing plugs soon and whatever else would be a 100K service interval
