I am not suprised. In 2007-8 or thereabouts I got sidelined by the TSA at my local international airport because I had a bullet on my keychain when I passed through xray. The supervisor got all up in my face and I was surprised and said "you realize this is a fake bullet don't you?" It was a gift from the NRA for being a silver bullet donor and it had a frickin hole in it to hold my keys for crying out loud! It wasn't even close to a real bullet. He said he didn't care and as he escorted me back into the terminal he said "if you held that up in front of passengers, the next thing you know there are F-16s flying next to your plane.
He said you either give it to me or mail it back to yourself. I chose the latter since I had plenty of time to wait for my plane and it was the principal of the matter after all. I also made him walk me all the way to the airport post office. Posted it back home and still made my plane. People are crazy these days.
