A couple months ago I ordered a pair of Crucial 16GB of DDR4 SODIMMS for my laptop (32GB total). The price was $140. Today I check into buying another pair to bring my laptop up to 64GB of RAM, and the prices is $228-232 for the same exact product.

What gives? Is there a shortage of RAM?

Why would anyone need more than 640k?

I've been wondering the same thing. I looked at building another computer, thinking I could spec it somewhat similarly to what I built two years ago and save a bunch of money...nope.

I remember when Win 95 came out, $100 for 4MB was a deal worth waiting in line for before the store opened.

Maybe it's all the rain they have been getting in Cali affecting the silicon fields, in Silicon Valley?
