New guy here so excuse my links.

Just saw this on facebook and thought I would share for discussion.

Secret Service agent on duty walking in the parade yesterday with what appears to be a fake arm.

Video:

I like the fake arm where the index finger actually is a pistol barrel

I noticed a few of the guys with that same right hand, ready to draw level.  Was wondering what they had strapped.
Didn't watch close enough to notice it looked fake, sure does now.

I actually watched that guy for a very very long time during the parade. He walked like that most of the time, I think it's his way of maintaining "interview position" without forgetting and interlocking fingers. I do the same thing. I would need to re watch it to check if the hand ever flexed though, I wasn't paying attention to that. Guy on the left on the other side of the car as him appeared to have a SMG under his coat. Lots of interesting stuff in the parade.

I'd choose a Shorty M4. If you are going to carry something nearly the size of a carbine it might as well be an intermediate cartridge instead of a pistol round.

What is the square bulge on the shoulder?

I thought so as I saw it live yesterday, but it looked like that thumb moved as they were walking.

Old TV show It Takes a Thief with Robert Wagner.
In one episode he had a set of fake arms clasped behind his back as he browsed a jewelry counter.
Items just disappeared off the counter.

If only he didn't fix his jacket with the fake hand.........

I imagine the SS guys riding just behind the presidents car have everything from AT rockets to MANPADS to beltfeds and grenade launchers.

More like suppressed 10.5 416, belt fed, possibly 40mm or even something anti-drone. With as controversial as Trump's been, they were not fucking around yesterday.

I was about to make a thread yesterday asking why members of the secret service hold their pinkies when walking.

It won't be long before we have discussions on which brand of fake arm we're using in our daily carry setup.

Interview position. But you can slip up and interlock your fingers which slows your response time. Holding your pinky keeps it together with no interlock.

The thumb and index finger moved but no other digits did, the middle finger looks wonky as hell too. I'm no secret squirrel but it definitely looks fake.

Those are fake as hell and its no surprise to have a guy ready to go in that situation.

Was it cold there? Or maybe hes just nervous. They seemed very worried about an attack when they had to put Trump behind a large bullet proof wall.

I was at the rally last year where Sessions endorsed him in front of 25-30K people.  During his speech an unauthorized small plane started circling.  Watching the Secret Service react was pretty cool.  They were really not happy with that plane being up there.

Maybe he is missing and arm and it's a prosthetic

There was another SS guy who was doing the same kind of thing but was holding his wedding ring with his right hand when the parade stopped.

SS uses the P90 iirc. It's an excellent weapon for their line of work. Low recoil, large magazine without accompanying bulk, and more concealable than a short AR.

The USSS won't buy SIGs with rails because they are afraid some agent might put a weapon light on them...do you really think they're going to be rolling around with animatronic arms with concealed plasma rifles?

That guy is actually a robot, not just his arm. Notice no eyebrows or hair.

And because of how ineffective the round is they have been looking to replace them in something 5.56 for almost a year if they haven't already.

FN P90's were never used by USSS agents.  They were used by one particular USSS Uniform Division team.  They were phased out 3-4 years ago and replaced with KAC SR-16s.

Not anymore. They found the round ineffective from what I heard. They carry Knights m4's now.

I think I spent more time watching the USSS than anything else, second was the roof top shooters.

I don't think that arm is fake, why would it need to be? Pretty well known that some roll with more than just a pistol on their hip -- Uzi during Reagan anyone?

When they dismounted as Trump was about to get out of the Beast was cool. Most hand their hands sweep to their waste while a few kept their arms tight against their body, as if they were trying to stabilize a weapon on a sling. And I really wonder what are inside those other SUVs, probably a mobile armory and intel unit.

Just shitty upper management that's ridiculously risk-adverse when it comes to introducing new firearms / technology.  There's a reason the place ranks 305 out of 305 among federal government agencies to work for.
