No problem with the Girlfriend thing, just not writing it all over his stuff. If your son doesn't give a shit, why would you? Let him socialize without totally fucking it up and giving him some sort of complex for the rest of his life. God forbid he fucking figure out how to critically think out a problem and solve it on his own.
By all means, insert strong dominant parental influence into something that doesn't really matter. Tiger mom / Helicopter parent the fuck out of this situation. Your child is special, you should retain a lawyer, threaten lawsuit and alienate the fuck out of your kid more. It works 87% of the time. On the other hand, do whatever the fuck you want. It's your kid. |

I remember in elementary school when things were simple. When you caught a girl's eye she would draw hearts and write her name on your stuff. Unfortunately I thought at the time that the girls must have been bored or something
Ahhh, the missed opportunities of youth. |

Just be glad it is a girl and not a boy/transgender/non-binary.

You better kick that little girl's ass to keep her away from your son, or he might grow up thinking "ect" is an abbreviation for something. |

I understand that you don't like her writing on his stuff, but that can be a good lesson for your son to learn. When they stop talking and he decides that he needs new stuff because her name is on it, just tell him tough shit & he has to live with it because he let her do it.

I remember when I was in first grade that a girl (very nice and pretty girl) wrote her name all over my shoes. I didn't know when she did it or how but even then I knew she was my girlfriend and was sending a message to other girls and I liked it. We've been friends ever since. And you parents were cool with it? It's a pair of 6 year old's shoes. His parents probably told him to not let her do that anymore. Then they had to replace them because he outgrew them. Same thing when you buy new school supplies for next year ! |

You should go to the school and flip out on the teacher. Maybe f-bomb a few times, maybe throw something while your at it. Kindergarten is serious shit OP.

OK OK I will let it ride. At least until I see sharpie on his shoes. View Quote Usually colored markers or ball point pen. Colored markers won't be permanent and bp pen fades pretty quickly. Lighten up, just let him know that those cost money and he shouldn't let her do that. Let HIM deal with it, that's how they learn to fight their own battles. |

Kindergarten through 2nd grade my boy had 3 girlfriends at the same time. Two of them had the same name.
He's in third grade now and thank God he's cut it back to two. He really had no choice though, I think k one moved away or wasn't in his class anymore . |
