My P09 came factory with the decocker but I switched it to the safety. Prefer the consistent SA pull. Poll inbound

For DA/SA anything I prefer a de-cocker, but I'll freely admit that my range toy SP01 will probably get sent on a trip to Cajun Gun works one of these days and comeback single action only.
I just got an HK LEM pistol, I'm not sure what I could really call it other than maybe a long light SA pull, with a SA trigger reset. I replaced the trigger return spring and locking block spring with the "light" LEM parts, and its a lot better than I expected. "Cocked and Locked" is a SA only thing, imho. Having a cocked and locked safety on a DA/SA pistol mostly defeats the purpose of having a DA/SA pistol, imho. |

View Quote I like SA guns so that's what I would go with for the CZ, but have been carrying a HK with the LEM trigger for about a year now. It's awesome. |

I have quite a few CZs, they're all decocker. I prefer them that way.
To each his own though. CZ makes good stuff no matter which way you go. |
Evan at 50/50 poll fail. No get both.
I have a CZ 75 SA and a p09 with decocker. |
Safety on my P07, but I wish CGW or someone would make a stronger, more positive version. The safety can easily be deactivated when holstering, at least in my holster.
I dont own one yet, but when I do finally buy the SP-01 on my want list it will have a safety.
you have the option of having a safety or a decocker?
not both? |
CCW is a p229, so i went decocker on my SP-01 for commonality.
have to admit that i don't care for the position of the CZ decocker though. not a deal-breaker, but if i had it to do over again, i might go with the safety. |
I left mine as a decocker. It doesn't bother me. I might change it to safety later on if I get a wild hair, but we'll see.
i'd go decocker, just me though. if you have to pull it you wouldn't have to worry about taking the pistol off safety. just MHO

lol @ the poll results. pretty even, which would explain why CZ came out with the Omega trigger.
I carry a decocker but have examples of both. |
Which grip insert are you using? I was using small and just switched to medium, curious what others are using.
My favorite CZ is my 75 SA so I prefer safety and SAO, but I'll probably keep my P-09 decocker equipped and shoot production with it. |
I don't like thumbing off safeties when I draw my gun.
Just me though, I voted decocker. |
That's why you manually decock them. Not all CZs can be swapped between safety and decocker. A safety give you options for both, the decocker has no option.

View Quote First time I shot it the day I bought it I kept the small. Switched to the medium a few days ago and shot 100 rounds with it and I think I like it better. |

Do you need an extra heavy first trigger pull for the same reason? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Why? Do you need a manual safety to make you feel "safe"? Do you need an extra heavy first trigger pull for the same reason? And if I wanted to eventually carry a DA/SA gun I would learn to shoot it properly and not have some mechanism on the side that I would have to fumble off in the event I wanted to use it. |

I bought my CZ SP-01 with a safety, because I have no use for a long DA trigger.
That said, the correct answer is still Glock 19. |

Manually lower a hammer on a live round? That's dumb as shit. I've done it hundreds of times for IDPA and USPSA with zero issues. Yes, because what people do during gun games is what you should advise as a "safe" practice. Congrats on your dumb as shit learned behaviour from your game. |

Decocker for me. I can't reach the safety without using both hands and twisting the firearm, so it's a no go for me.

You drop it on your thumb then let it drop to half cock. You can continue your unsafe practices, and you can be called out for such when you recommend that others do the same. Doing a stupid unsafe thing years successfully does not make it safe, nor a smart thing to advise others to do themselves. |

The SA pull on mine is already less than that and with half the trigger travel. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I bet I could get the DA pull on my SP01 down to 6lbs if I wanted to. The SA pull on mine is already less than that and with half the trigger travel. My SA pull is the cats ass, CGW is the shit. |
