When dealing with conspiracies, I always subscribe to the "some secrets are too big to keep" theory, especially with so many involved, and that at some point someone will talk. Then people begin to die under mysterious and questionable circumstances and you're right back where you began, believing in a deadly and secretive cabal.
Draining the swamp doesn't begin to describe what needs to be done here.
