Guess Democrats are the party of the rich now?

Hillary is bought and paid for by wall street and foreign governments. They know who's got their back.
I guess they see Hillary as the safer bet to maintain the status quo. From their perspective they probably see Trump as a greater risk to their economic wellbeing because his potential Presidency and the effects it would have on our system are unpredictable at this point.
it's because the democrats will crater the economy as a parting gift if the donald wins.
If one has money and success, one shouldn't want to "burn it down."
It's because Trump is the champion of NASCAR sister fucking rednecks.
Makes sense, rich people like others who can be bought by their money and influence.
And now that they know the White house will be for sale, it's a full court press to get her crooked ass in there. |
They all know she is only spewing about raising the taxes on the rich. She gets to score points with liberal little shits who want free shit
and it will amount to jack as the right will shoot it down and then she can point a finger at republicans and say those evil republicans did not want to give you free college, free this, that, or the other thing. |
Lots of wealthy people have consistently supported Democrat candidates.
Warren Buffett is not blazing any new trails here. Why this still surprises people, I will never understand. |
Wealthy establishment people know there's only one party and Trump doesn't belong to it.
Well considering that almost every business these days is fully or partially dependent on government that is no surprise.
Pretentiousness. I am around semi-wealthy people a good bit (wealthy of course is relative) and I hear the same damn "rich" women saying something different from one day to the next, depending on who they are talking too at the time.
They love to talk about which actor they were in the store with while they were on vacation. Shit like that. I see one doctors wife that is dumb as a brick talking about how she likes Rush Limbaugh one minute and then a gay lawyer that is eat up with liberalism (big bernie fan) and being gay, comes into the gym and she is all of a sudden voting for hillary and has to make sure the lawyer knows she is "socially liberal". Sometimes, I think re-enacting the Purge movie might not be a bad idea. Alot of them think they are "enlightened" by voting democrat b/c the media has told them that. |

Yep. Today's wealthy folks have zero sense of noblesse oblige.
If true, that means we're fooked. Banks run the country. They're the only thing you always see more of being built, no matter the economic state.

The rich prefer the immigration and trade policies of Hillary Clinton so they can have more cheap labor. Donald Trump is against those things and wants them to pay more money to hire Americans instead, which makes them upset.
Made their money already. Fuck everybody else. Kick the door closed capitalists.

This more of the NY Times scaring people about an event which will happen anyway. The proven economic forecasters, i.e. 2008 and 2009, are again predicting a recession next year NO MATTER WHO IS IN OFFICE. The NY Times is using this down cycle in the economy to rationalize Hillary. Who is in office, and particularly their advisors, can determine the LENGTH of the recession. Hillary and Obama's advisors brought us the least successful recession recovery in 60 years and the mess in the middle east. Some of that mess appears to be due to under board business deals of Foundation friends like Sid Blumenthal. Trump seems to have a much better cast of advisors. So i would expect the recession to be SHORTER with a Trump presidency and cabinet.

Spent a week at the Marriott Resort at Ford's Colony in VA. Surrounded by rich folks from all over the Northeast. There wasn't a single sign of Hillary support ANYWHERE. No sign of Hillary support in Williamsburg VA. Even the wife asked "where are the Hillary signs?" Heard more than one snide remark about Hillary and overnheard a self proclaimed liberal while having dinner say that she didn't like Trump but there was no way that she could vote for Hillary. Her opinion was that there would only be rich and poor in Hillary's world. Don't know how a "rich" person could vote for someone proposing a 65% estate tax.

I think the average working class Republican has a very distorted view of what self-interest looks like from the top, because the tax code actually impacts them and they believe it impacts people farther up the scale than they are more.
These people don't much care what the tax rates are, it doesn't change their lives at all and they don't pay much income or payroll tax anyway. They care about order and security, and keeping the liquidity taps flowing because they're the ones who benefit from first use. We've been getting killed on economic issues for a long time, because the only people that actually like the policies the right has been advocating (low six figure income) aren't numerous enough to matter much at the polls and aren't wealthy enough to effectively play the lobbying game. That's one thing about Trump though, he's actually breaking the mold a bit on that score. I just wish he's focus more on encouraging capital investment rather than gains. |

The working class typically votes R, not surprised that FSA and a chunk the wealthy elitist go D.
Maybe he knows the system and ways to skirt taxes by experience- so "loop holes" he knows make them nervous
Increasing a percentage for the rich they'll just find more ways to skirt it |

Title says maybe in the link. I wont even bother looking at speculation. More fluff for the democrats to ease their wounds.

Hillary might piss and moan about Citizens United but that decision has pretty much funded her entire campaign. |

Been travelling to/from the South Texas oil patch this week.
I'm pretty sure the big money in Texas is not going to hillery. Lot's of businesses with Trump signs. |
I only skimmed the article. Did they bother to quote the Wikileaks email of her GS speech where she gloatingly claimed that they were now the party of Wall Street? I'm guessing not.
